I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

OP posts:

Bit off topic... But I don't like the way the new family seem to think moving to a terrace is somehow horrific and torturous.
Some people would dream of a house like that... And if they had so many debts, how did they get a mortgage?

They're just terrible, all of them. The eldest lad seems to be stuck acting to kids and the younger one can't act at all. The parents are also dreadful...

EachandEveryone · 23/08/2019 13:13

I thought that about the mortgage too

ajandjjmum · 23/08/2019 17:53

Didn't someone show photos of their old house, and it really was lovely. Maybe they had lots of equity in it, so only needed a small mortgage, which either the wife or the sons could support?

Or it could just be another badly thought through storyline! Grin

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 23/08/2019 18:06

Who lived in their current house before them? I forget.

ajandjjmum · 23/08/2019 18:21

Wasn't it Norris' house, and they miraculously bought it overnight?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 23/08/2019 18:30

Oh that’s right. It was still Emily’s house in my mind.

Optimist1 · 23/08/2019 19:29

I've a feeling that one of the sons (non-footballer) took Michelle back to their old house in an attempt to impress her. Could have dreamed that, though!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 23/08/2019 19:37

Yes that happened optimist. I remember discussion on the thread at the time.

Does Eileen still work in the cab office?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 23/08/2019 19:54

Oh here’s Amy back with her silly mouth that only knows one expression.

woodhill · 23/08/2019 19:59

Wasn't the dad in playbus

thenightsky · 23/08/2019 20:46

Why is the new mum working in the café when she's a qualified nurse?

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 23/08/2019 21:01

Emma: "I still don't want anything to do with you and I never will"
Me: "yeah yeah, give it a month"

If it hasn’t been in the show it’s a spoiler.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 24/08/2019 14:11

I didn’t know til I saw your post.

nildesparandum · 24/08/2019 21:24

Why is the new mum working in the cafe when she is a qualified nurse?
And why is she serving food with her hair falling into her face and her eyes?
Roy does this as well, plus the same dirty looking pinny and cardigan he has worn to work for years. That cafe would have been closed down for health and safety reasons in reality.
The new mum(I can't remember her name) will suddenly become a nurse again the minute the next Corrie character is in hospital.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/08/2019 22:28

Why what’s wrong with working in a cafe.
A jobs a job. There’s no shame in going out earning an honest living, is there

EachandEveryone · 25/08/2019 00:23

When the country is crying out for nurses and she could walk into a job that pays five tines more than cafe work ?🤔

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 25/08/2019 00:25

Dr. Ali is currently very fulfilling all roles in Wetherfield general. Grin

Deadringer · 25/08/2019 01:02

Nursing is bloody hard work! No way would I spend my time off grafting in a cafe so my arse of a husband can gamble our home away. That new story line is really annoying me!

Clawdy · 26/08/2019 21:04

The Robert story is ridiculous! As if Michelle wouldn't have got suspicious at his hedging and stumbling when explaining why he was in Macclesfield!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 26/08/2019 22:45

I hate the way they just keep letting Mr appalling Belfast accent man into Vicky’s house and he walks in as if he owns the place. As if you would just open the door and let him in, let him stand and goad and mock you and your new partner. You’d tell him to get to fuck and shut the door on him.

Spidey66 · 27/08/2019 13:11

I thinking New Mum (can't remember her name) is working in the cafe as a second job in addition to her nursing, which is odd as most nurses in her shoes would just do some bank shifts. I know she works in a chemists (I didn't know nurses worked in chemists but I suppose there's a role) but she could still do an extra day there couldn't she? Or join the bank in Weatherfield General or a nursing home, they're always crying out for nurses.
