The parents are shockingly bad actors (IMO)

No I think the dad has a habit - gambling maybe - Micheal said “you can tell me Dad - your not erm —“
I can’t stand Geoff - it’s horrible to watch him gaslighting yazmeen.

The only thing I think is odd about the Geoff/Yazmeen situation is that he's been around for years, and there has been no sign of this character until recently - unless I've missed something.

Yes that's what I meant about the plot going too fast, it's gone from barely any sign to full on stalking and abuse so quickly.

Yes but It’s only really now he’s became a big character. That wasn’t years ago was when he was working as a DJ in the hospital, was it. Maybe it was time goes that quickly.

You're right - he joined in March 2018 as Tim's dad. That time has dragged - seems like years!

The pace is probably due to writers having a short time to end the storyline or hit a climax by Christmas/new year.

We all know is an abuse that's applied like a slowly dripping tap. But for TV land, a lot of these abuse stories are rushed but with the main aspect acted out (usually) brilliantly.

I wonder how the actor that plays Geoff feels about the story line. It can't be an easy thing to act out for him.

i am not liking Mrs Tembe (from Doctors) in the new family. Her accent is atrocious. I think Eddie (the dad) is fitting in well

Gemma's mum actress was a paramedic in Casualty I think

Mrs Tembe was fabulous in Doctors. She is a brilliant actress, but her Mancunian accent is shit. I don't understand why the script writer's think everyone in Manchester has a Manchester accent.

Gosh I just googled Gemma's mum....she played Dixie in Casualty. She looks very different but tbh now I know I recognise the voice.

I feel that the new mum/ dad are over- acting don’t think they’re great but am sure I’ll get used to them.

I like Amy wanting micro- blading bet that’s a convo a lot of teens have gone through with their parents.

She (Gemma’s mum) puts me in mind of Tina Malone. I believe in Corrie previously, as a different character.

And I thought micro-blading was some kind of skating!

They've done well to make Yasmeen look like she's lost lots of weight too.

The Geoff storyline has been going on for a while, quite subtlety, my spidey senses thought something was off at the beginning of the relationship, remember how arsey he got when Yasmeen wouldn’t sleep with him?, threw a real strop, the little things like cancelling her lunch dates with friends without asking her, making Yasmeen think it was her who ruined Ryan’ There has been a lot of little things leading to the more recent episodes but I do think it is moving to fast now. Also remember how his nasty little personality came out with Brian and carrotgate! A taste of things to come.....

I have to disagree with pp about Tracey though she is one of my favourite characters I really hope she turns into a full blown Blanche! My all time favourite character much missed. I would have given My DH a mouthful too if I discovered he had spent £600 on a coffin with no explanation! That scene had me roaring, Tracey’s delivery of her lines was class!

I like Tracey too and agree that I’d go mad if I found £600 gone from our joint account with no explanation.

I agree that Geoff was probably the same with Tim’s Mum. There was a scene a while back with Geoff and Tim where Tim mentioned his Mum and Geoff snapped something about not talking about her. In Monday’s episode he was planting it in Tim’s mind that Yasmeen is moody and grumpy and different behind closed doors

I wonder what Sally will make of it, if she will see through Geoff.

The actress who plays Gemma's mum was in Coronation Street in 1985 as Sue Clayton. Her older sister, Andrea, became pregnant with Terry Duckworth's baby ( Paul) and the family disappeared. I remember them.
