I’ve never really bought Yasmeen and Geoff as a partnership - she always seemed a bit more of a serious bookish type and he’s hardly a catch. I also didn’t like when he was pressuring her for sex, but I guess that was the beginning of this coercive control storyline. It’s horrible to watch though, I hope it’s over soon. Could be interesting if it brings up something about Tim’s mum.

We've been away and DH is watching all the recorded episodes tonight. I'm on here and just noticing bits and pieces, Corrie is so awful now, annoying Aliya will never be able to prove what she instinctively knows. Geoff is a complete and utter arsehole, a controlling gaslighting bastard. Now he's manipulated the conversation to get Aliya to move out, whoever wrote this storyline either is or has real knowledge of very manipulative people.

But why? This storyline has happened so fast, there is no reason, no real basis for him behaving like this.

I think you are onto something Monkey, when Daniel and Sinead were first together he was showing all the signs of a psycho. And don't forget he pushed Ken down the stairs and almost killed him.

I read that the actress who plays Yasmeen heard about gaslighting on some radio programme and suggested that the issue be covered on Corrie. I don't disagree, but WISH it could have been done with some degree of subtlety and realistic build up. And maybe not at the same time as all the other 'issues' they have on the boil at any given time...
