I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

OP posts:
SymphonyofShadows · 29/06/2019 20:33

I must have missed the end. It’s easy to be distracted watching Corrie at the moment

Deadringer · 29/06/2019 20:44

Why doesn't Gary just take the money and meet his new customers in a pub or somewhere, or better yet, just keep the money. Although I really want him to get caught and locked up forever.

millimat · 30/06/2019 20:59

Yes,as if he'd carry on in that Rocks place!

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/07/2019 19:40

What is Geoff wearing ?

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 01/07/2019 21:04

Good grief. Nick's snivelly acting was a masterpiece in shite.

thenightsky · 01/07/2019 21:20

Is Gemma's brother (Paul ?) still in a relationship with the vicar?

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 01/07/2019 21:40

I assume so, thenightsky
Hands up if you think Maria will end up shagging Ali Hmm

Optimist1 · 01/07/2019 21:42

How ridiculous that Maria should express a preference for Netflix and chill on her dating profile - I'm old enough to be her mother and even I know that expression isn't anything about box sets!

SgtFredColon · 01/07/2019 22:13

Geoff definitely did the robbery!

They are totally setting up Ali and Maria. I’m trying to to think are related - she used to me married to his uncle? But so was Carla and they shagged didn’t they?

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/07/2019 22:26

I thought Tim's comments to his dad said a lot. Clearly he treated Tim's mother like shit.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 01/07/2019 22:30

Yes Liam would be Ali’s cousin. So maria his former auntie.

I noticed the reference to Geoff’s ex wife. I wondered if there was going to be a revelation that shocked Tim.

Deadringer · 01/07/2019 22:36

Yes Redshoeblueshoe I was agog at Geoff's polo shirt/dress too, I think he has been shopping in the big n' tall section! How callous was he selling that stuff, then ripping up the photo. I thought he was nasty but now I think he is actually evil. He made a reference to Tim's mum, maybe he messed up her life too and turned Tim against her. Yes to Ali and Maria, they are opposite sex and not blood relatives, they have had two conversations so they will be shagging/married/divorced before we know it.

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/07/2019 22:40

Deadringer I first thought it was a dress. Buying in the Big and Tall section shows how deluded he really is Grin

The metamorphosis of Geoff continues it seems.
Happy go lucky, hospital radio DJ with jokes and a magic act has now become burglar with connections to fences and knows how to shift knicked gear.

Fuck off Corrie..

Next week we find out that Audrey has actually been a man named Derek all these years. Gail is actually ET, just in a wig. Nick isn't actually Nick but an imposter called Artemis that stole Nick's identity 10 years ago, which explains why he looks 10+ years older than real Nick. Let's not forget that we also find out that Craigy isn't actually a Craigy, but 3 toddlers in a Craigy costume. But it's okay, because the week after next, Kevin is revealed to be in hospital.. he suddenly.wkes up and tears out all the tubes, it's revealed he's been in a Coma for 10 years and all that's happened in Corrie in that time was a fevered dream if a coma patient. He goes back to the street to find Fred Elliot propping up the bar..

CoolCarrie · 02/07/2019 12:44

I laughed when Nick said something about himself Laughing and joking in the Rovers, when did that ever happened? He is and always has been a grumpy sod, even before the head injury. Same with Leanne.

HettySunshine · 02/07/2019 12:45

Hey Monkey no spoilers! 🤣

Deadringer · 02/07/2019 14:15

coolcarrie i also wracked my brains trying to recall Nick laughing and joking in the pub. Pretty sure it never happened.
'3 toddlers in a Craigy costume' spot on monkey

Mmmmdanone · 02/07/2019 15:32

Maria doesn't know what Netflix and chill means? Or does she......?

hiyahen · 02/07/2019 15:35

When Geoff's phone was ringing and he told Tim it was Yasmeen trying to call but it said on the screen 'Little Baz', I actually thought for a minute or two he actually had a hateful nickname for Yasmeen! 😂😂

I might be in the minority here but I do think Geoff as a controlling character is very believable.

desperatehousewife21 · 02/07/2019 16:30

Same because controlling people don’t start out that way otherwise no one would ever be with them. It creeps up and they slowly start doing more and more until they have complete control over the person and the person thinks they need them.

Gail- ET in a wig Grin spot on!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 02/07/2019 16:36

To me, it's not that he's unbelievable as a controlling and manipulative sort etc. It's just the speed at which his character has completely changed. Up till a few weeks ago there was not a single hint of anything untoward. Then people in these previous threads questioned some of his slightly off behaviour and suddenly now he's completely different.

I could swear the writers didn't intend this story line, but read here, realised it might be interesting, went with it.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 02/07/2019 16:53

I think I've realised what's happened.

Remember a few months ago, before Sinead got ill?
It seemed like Daniel was being all controlling with her and she was asking his permission to do stuff etc.

I reckon, they set up the abuse storyline for daniel and Sinead but instead Sinead got ill and instead of dumping all the abuse ideas they shifted it over and needed another couple to use it with.
Most other couples were busy with stuff, Yasmeen and Geoff weren't tho...

Of course, I might be totally wrong, but Daniel certainly is much nicer these days.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 02/07/2019 18:39

He goes back to the street to find Fred Elliot propping up the bar.

Sad oh I would love this to be true.

It’s totally believable that Geoff is a controlling bastard, he actually plays the part quite while and I never really liked him before all this started (a week ago) so it fits that they have chosen Geoff to play this storyline. But agree it’s the speed of it. It’s come out of nowhere. No slow build up or drip drip of signs, just BAM! Geoff stalking Yasmeen round the street and staging burglaries. All in a week.

Deadringer · 02/07/2019 18:52

He is playing the part really well so I hope he doesn't have to leave the show, they don't have enough good actors as it is.
