I can't see how Hastings was left in charge of AC12. He was found guilty of discreditable conduct.

Surely to lead an anti-corruption unit you can't be prone to discreditable conduct ?? A sideways move possibly to save face for the force, but to remain in senior role in anti corruption seems extraordinary unless it is to keep the suspense going for another series

The focus on Ted's laptop included the chat window, which was similar to the one that the OCG used. At one point his laptop chimed as though he had a new message. I don't think Ted was necessarily watching straightforward porn. It may have been a cam girl/chat type situation, which could come back to bite him.

In any case, I don't think he'll ever be the same. He didn't follow the letter of the law, he broke it in several ways.

herd of immunity
Grin

My DH concentrates so poorly he gets everyone confused!!

However, I do think the same casual/ inadvertent racism (?) may have been at play when some posters were so insistent that Lise's mixed race meant she must somehow be connected to Huntley or Gates. I'd have been really disappointed if that had panned out.

Schnitzelvonkrumb · 06/05/2019 13:00

Completely nothing to do with the story but until the intense interview i had never noticed how piercing blue teds eyes were!!

CraicMammy · 06/05/2019 13:07

You know there is actual scientific research showing that people find it harder to distinguish and identify faces of different races.

No excuse. If you know something is difficult, don’t give up, try harder. I have face blindness, so I focus more on a person’s other features, such as hair colour and style, names etc to recognise a person.

Me too!

Did Gill get the money excluded so they would look for further evidence and find the DNA on John Corbett? Why? They could have done that anyway. That part made no sense to me.

Piggywaspushed · 06/05/2019 13:48

She got the money excluded a) to appear to be on Ted's side and b) because presumably it leads back to Moffatt and, therefore, her if her plans didn't work : so she didn't want them looking too closely at the money.

Invisibleiink · 06/05/2019 13:49

I assumed that Gill got the evidence excluded to convince Ted she was on his side, so that he'd follow her advice to quit.

(Though it was optimistic to think that Ted would believe that Gill would be able persuade Anna MM to drop the murder charge!)

AMM's thoughtful look at the end suggests she'll continue to go after Ted.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 13:51

Presumably she was trying to make sure Ted actually went down. If they just used the money and then it was thrown out because of the legal technicality then they'd potentially not make it stick. Also it made it look like she was on his side as a further bluff.

jessicawessica · 06/05/2019 13:53

Don't think Hari's in jail. Didn't he get hanged by Dot in Series 3? Dot used his own rope from the boot of his car and that's how they knew it wasn't suicide.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 13:55

Dot set Hari up by planting the rope and pretending Hari was going to hang Dot but because they found the fibres in Dot's car Ac12 worked out it was a set up.

I think you may need to rewatch, Jessica!

jessicawessica · 06/05/2019 14:05

Sorry it was Rod not Hari....knew someone had been hanged!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 06/05/2019 14:15

I don't think Bigelow and Moffat were trying to bribe Ted with the money - they were using it to frame him as H.

Acis seems to have gone quiet Hmm.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/05/2019 14:18

The problem I have with Rohan Sindwhani is that the actor who played him also played an unpleasant lawyer type on Shetland, so I just see him on LoD and think, "He's definitely corrupt..."

VanGoghsDog · 06/05/2019 14:35

It's a pity Ted didn't get a bit of SteveArnott ( ED) when he was with Gill.

He didn't do anything with Gill, she tried to imply he had ("I'll spare your blushes") but he claimed she only went in to use the loo (that type of hotel tends not to have loos in reception I guess) when he realised she must have nabbed some hair from his comb.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 14:42

The money wasn't actually a bribe, but that's what they were trying to imply with framing him with it. To anyone else it would look like a bribe or payment from the OCG if H...

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 15:05

Why would Dot have not just blinked 4 times in succession when Kate first started the alphabet?

I could see there being a series 7 now which feels too much.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 15:11

So has Ryan been 'playing' Simon B in an unseen side story - meeting up with him for a burger and pretending to be reformed while secretly part of the ocg, or is Simon B now bent which is sad as quite liked him.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2019 15:13

oops Dot I meant cotton Grin

SapatSea · 06/05/2019 15:16

I had a busy day and nodded off for a second or two and missed what Ted said was on the laptop he disposed off, can someone tell me waht was on it? I asked my DH but he said he was enjoying LOD but didn't know and wouldn't let me rewind. Thanks

Very dissappointed in Ted keeping fifty thou. If Mrs Corbett tries to bank that there would be questions asked and as some one has already pointed out, it can be hard to get fifty pound notes accepted in many shops etc.

Mother of God, it all seemed a mess at the end. We don't know who was running Gil Bigelow. Giving up Moffatt was small fry (even smaller than herself). Getting immunity and WP is incredibly rare in the UK, you'd need to cough up big style for that . As for Lisa what did she give up to get immunity, ridiculous, out and about talking to youth offenders, would she not be spotted. She shot Cafferty who surely would have identified her once she was in lock up herself.

As for Ted being a Catholic policeman and therefore trusted by the catholic community, ha, ha, ha, as if. You'd be more likely to be shot/blown up than a protestant officer. Adrian Dunbar should have put JM straight on that one. Going to the informers house and being seen to, is also a big no no, even back in the 80's. All felt very weak, especially the tapping

Poor

ODFOD. It's a Bank Holiday afternoon, not everyone is on MN all the time.

I'd never seen him before but i thought he seemed dodgy from the first meeting, and especially after the press release in final episode......but them I'm running out of people who don't seem to be involved/corrupt in some way.....🤔

bibbitybobbityyhat · 06/05/2019 15:38

what is your point @VentingDaughter? I think Acis is probably a bit embarrassed as she made an arse of herself on this thread.

CollaterlieSistersSister · 06/05/2019 15:40

Not RTFT.

But.

Aren’t we all highly highly suspicious of Corbett’s wife?

That was no Scouse accent we heard there, not by a long chalk.

(Alternatively, wtf to casting that actress???)
