I'm really disappointed, as hard as it is for me to admit! They always tie up the loose ends at the end of each series even though they then follow on in the next ones

  • why did daddy Hastings have the messaging window on his laptop?
  • why was Lisa sobbing when John died? Why was she crying in the toilet a few weeks ago?
  • who was the bloke going to the brothel in the flat cap?
  • what did daddy Hastings say to Lee in prison?
  • what the hell is gonna happen to the bloke who gave Hastings the money?
  • what was on Hastings laptop that meant he has to get rid of it?
  • surely the point of a burner phone is that you use it for a couple of days then chuck it, why would you keep using it then bloody take it into a police interview?!
  • why did we suddenly see Jackie laverty again? And why did they put her in that body bag with John?!

SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.

fancynancyclancy · 05/05/2019 23:51

I thought it was a great idea to get Ryan into the police. Obviously he’s not going to be anything other then completely bent.

Mummabear12345567889 · 05/05/2019 23:51

When Lisa was being interviewed, did she say it was Muroslav who killed John?? I need to watch it again. It was Ryan Pilkington who killed him wasnt it??

(This has just popped into my head as I'm getting into bed to prevent me from sleeping!)

JohnnyBee · 05/05/2019 23:52

Susan Tully ex EastEnders directed the last two episodes.

SpeedyBojangles · 05/05/2019 23:54

Why did Hastings know Lisa?

Didn't Corbett hover her name to Steve when he was feeding him info on the OCG? And they had a physical description of her from Rafferty, so he would have put two and two together surely?

SpeedyBojangles · 05/05/2019 23:55

*Give not hover

JamesBoredom · 05/05/2019 23:57

I thought Ryan killed John too but Lisa knows that if she lets Ryan crack on, and covers for him, she’s still got an ally.

tinstar · 05/05/2019 23:57

The Morse Code thing was utterly ridiculous.

Totally out of character that Ted would keep the money.

Don't believe he was watching porn or that he would feel the need to hide his pc even if he was. Why would he think anyone would even look for it?

Could have done without the lingering camera shots on Gill's scheming face to signal her duplicity. There were enough clues without labouring the point.

What on earth was Lisa's behaviour about? Bag of nerves one minute and hard-nosed villain the next.

Very disappointed.

Mummabear12345567889 · 06/05/2019 00:00

@JamesBoredom wonder if they'll be linking up in the next series. Seeing as shes out and teaching young people about avoiding crime (or recruiting them....🤔)

supportasis · 06/05/2019 00:00

Why was the OCG referring to 'H' if there was no 'H' and in fact it was just morse code?

Wasn't the OCG well established with the corrupt officer/s way before the code name H was revealed? Why were they using that code name and what would they have referred to them before?

fancynancyclancy · 06/05/2019 00:00

Yes Ryan did kill him & she knew he was going to but better to blame a dead person.

JamesBoredom · 06/05/2019 00:01

support I imagine that Gill sewed that seed as part of the set up.

EachandEveryone · 06/05/2019 00:03

How does the new identity thing work in this day and age. Having lise going around prisons with abit of lippy on?🤔

Forthepurposesofthetape · 06/05/2019 00:04

C'mon Dot could you not have done this?

JamesBoredom · 06/05/2019 00:05

If Steve ever sees Ryan, surely he’ll remember that he tried to cut his fingers off?

checkoutno3please · 06/05/2019 00:05

As Ryan is now in police not sure how useful he will be to the OCG as he will have very little influence and won't get in a specialist department for a few years. But then again it is telly Grin

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 00:10

Moffat. Another man who could presumably tell them something. Convicted of bribery. But why? And on whose orders? Makes no sense. Or was Gill supposedly behind that bit? But why? (Again.)

Acis · 06/05/2019 00:13

At the end of any big series like this we always get people coming on to post that they're disappointed, it's utterly predictable and tedious. Of course we weren't going to find out who H is, we know there's another series to come.

SpeedyBojangles · 06/05/2019 00:14

I thought that but then figured it was probably given to them by Corbett who was given the name by Jill.

RaffertyFair · 06/05/2019 00:20

So, Dot couldn't answer "what letter does the name begin with ..." because there was more than one person.

Instead, in his dying moments, he decided that he would blink yes to the letter H because H is 4 dots in morse code and he thought they'd work out this meant that there are 4 people at the top?? WTF?? that's like a clue from bloody 3-2-1 Confused

And Steve realised this from looking at the still photograph ...

It feels as if the aim is primarily to confuse the viewer, rather than tell a complex but plausible story.

tinstar · 06/05/2019 00:20

So we're only allowed to post if we say good things?

Yes! Series 3 had people on here being sarcastic at Kate chasing Dot at the end.

pineapplebryanbrown · 06/05/2019 00:27

I've never thought Dot's dying declaration (for the tape DDD) meant H - Kate was making conclusions that weren't there.

My vote is for Cressida Dick or that Rohit legal fella.

RaffertyFair · 06/05/2019 00:28

From Jed Mercurio talking about why Dot indicated "H"
"He's not able to verbalize, 'It's not a name, it's a clue!' – if she'd said, 'How many people are we looking for?' and started counting, then we would have got the number. But actually, she was desperate to get the name of one person and that's why Dot was forced to find an elliptical way of saying that it's a multiplicity of people."

Hence the morse code: dot-dot-dot-dot. Four 'Dots'. Four corrupt officers/senior figures within the police.

Why on earth would it be more important to indicate the total number rather than point them in the direction of one??

And there is nothing to verify Steve's theory in the actual episode. We know only know its correct because the writer says so .....

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/05/2019 00:32

Series 4 the question was who is balaclava man, it turned out to be balaclava men. So this is, H is 4 people, and we know 3 of them. There has to be some question left for series 6.

I think Lisa was giving talks to female prisoners because she’d had a hard upbringing (foster care etc) and had never really felt comfortable with all the killings.

That Ryan is a smug wee gobshite.
