Here is a new thread for when the old one is full.

Maybe his defenses will be they searched the wrong room. If it said 337 on the door but he and Carmichael both agreed it was 336

emsiewill · 29/04/2019 16:20

Also in the interview, Carmichael says she has demonstrated that Ted had motive to want Corbett dead. Nothing in that interview that I can see demonstrates why Ted would want him dead. I know we know that Ted knows that Corbett attacked his wife, but that wasn't mentioned in the interview. What did I miss?

GoldenGumballs · 29/04/2019 16:27

Think Kate could be a bad ‘un and what’s Ted got stuck in his toilet cistern- I haven’t just floated up the Lagen in a bubble.

TedsFederationRep · 29/04/2019 16:33

Nothing in that interview that I can see demonstrates why Ted would want him dead.

Except that Carmichael knows - because Steve told her - that he refused to carry out Ted's
Fahrenheit order because he believed it to be unlawful.

Just thinking about Jane Cafferty. She said, after some hesitation, that she was recruited to the dark side by Dot, probably in around 2015, but he died in 2016....so who does she think she is working for now? Who does she think is watching her from the police side? I'd be re-interviewing her if I was Steve or Kate, and pronto.

Has anyone tried asking their Alexa who H is?!

😁Mine is too frightened to tell me, as well!

Aldicheckoutworkout · 29/04/2019 16:43

I definitely think Rohan is hiding stuff (but then literally everyone seems suspect!!) I couldn't see why Kate and Steve had to be out of the building and not just not in the room while ted was interviewed. Re the door number i thought they went past 337 when poundland kate arrested him? Also the very first LoD was started on a mistaken door number so would they do that again??

dogsdinnerlady · 29/04/2019 16:45

Tracy....the actor has popped us in lots of roles. I remember him (I think) as the doctor in EastEnders who had a fling with Maz's wife?

poundoflard · 29/04/2019 16:49

@pope

My thoughts too about this series, the others have had main characters, Denton, Cottan and Huntley who the storyline was about, where as I find this one a bit bitty choppy changey, with no real direction.
I'm a simple person I like to be able to follow a storyline and actually have a clue what is going on

emsiewill · 29/04/2019 16:51

I know Carmichael might know about Ted's issues with Corbett, but she said that it had been demonstrated in the interview and I heard nothing that demonstrated the issues.

IamHyouweegobshite · 29/04/2019 16:52

I am going to have to watch the whole 5 series again. So confusing.

Violetparis · 29/04/2019 16:53

After absolutely loving last weeks episode I found last nights a total let down, it was just so odd.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 29/04/2019 17:04

I get you @violetparis

At a risk of being unpopular I feel there is something “missing” about this in a way that I’ve not felt before.
My favourite LoD series’ have been 2, 3 and 4 (I’ve not finished 1) and I just think there’s a point where something can get too twisty?

I completely believe that Ted is innocent and may be acting rashly as his personal life is in freefall; but I just found last night a stretch too far to get on board with - it felt too soapy.

Tinseltrauma · 29/04/2019 17:04

This is completely totally out there but is P.C.C. Rohan Sindwhani involved. Something bugs me about him

Agree with this - I've had my suspicions about him for a while!

TedsFederationRep · 29/04/2019 17:11

You could be right, emsie. I'll have to watch it again - not that I need an excuse 😁!

Acis · 29/04/2019 17:18

Quite an interesting article on Stephen Graham here - www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6968741/Line-Duty-star-Stephen-Graham-reveals-dyslexia-severe-wife-reads-scripts.html. Kudos to him for coping as an actor with severe dyslexia.

Violetparis · 29/04/2019 17:21

I hope it isn't going the way of The Bodyguard, as in going downhill with a crap ending after the surprise killing off of one of the main characters.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/04/2019 17:29

Steve Arnott's Uncle John Corbett don't you think Grin

Line of Duty definately part 3.

Rollergirl11 · 29/04/2019 17:29

Email: I’ve just watched that bit. There is a shot of the officer from AC3 stood in front of a door with 337 on it but it’s actually the door of the room opposite. Ted’s room is definitely 336.

Cary2012 · 29/04/2019 17:32

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread yet, but I've wondered for some time whether Lise could be the daughter of the Tony/Jackie affair in series one. The timings etc would fit. Apologies if this has been discussed.
I don't trust Kate, I don't think she's H, but I think she's more involved than know.
Ted is very very deeply undercover, he's playing them all like a fiddle. I have to believe this else I shall cry and cancel the TV licence.
I think Jackie's remains have had dna from the bank they were storing added to them.
I think the computer will be key to proving Ted's innocence.
Off to catch up on the thread now.
As you were fellas!

Rollergirl11 · 29/04/2019 17:32

That was to Emsie, damn autocorrect!

wigglypiggly · 29/04/2019 17:35

There's something about Kate I don't trust either, I think Steve will save the day.

UCOinanOCG · 29/04/2019 17:36

I am heading out shortly so if this thread fills up someone will need to make a new one! No pressure folks.

It has!

wowfudge · 29/04/2019 17:44

It was a great interview - so much left unsaid on both sides really.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 29/04/2019 17:49

Still no theories as to why they put Jackie's body in with Corbett's?

What is the message there?

I think the money in Ted's hotel room could be "innocent" - Moffatt told him in the pub they could loan money back to him if he were to reinvest in the scheme didn't he?

Mrs H is definately, definately strongly connected in some way! And the social worker, Jane Hargreaves - that cannot be a coincidence. Jackie's husband (or was it ex husband) - where the hell IS he?

I found last night's episode a bit too testing to be enjoyable, tbh. Hoping for a great finale next week!

aweedropofsancerre · 29/04/2019 17:55

Did Ted mention that Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael has been fast tracked up the ranks? I a wondering if she is H? She has said she is going to prove that H is Ted but I wonder what her background is? Maybe a middle name beginning with H?
