It's not daft though, is it? Because first we had the caddy, and the onus was on finding and exposing/ eliminating him.. then we find that the caddy is run by H who becomes the next fish to fry.

Free Ted

Yer Wee Gobshites!

popehilarious · 29/04/2019 14:16

I'm enjoying this series, but not in the same way as s2/3, as it's more bluster and smoke/mirrors to fool/tease the audience but not really adding any depth to the story. Lots of jumping about, are they/aren't they ambiguous scenes, but not really much else to properly chew on.

(I want a bit more dogged police work!)

When you consider Denton was a whole series just based on whether or not she conspired in that ambush, and Jane Cafferty who essentially did the same (although perhaps to a lesser extent as it was a straightforward goods hijack not a witness thing) was dealt with in an episode or two with no real focus. Not that I'd want a re-tread of the same thing but I do tend to lose sight of what AC12's case/objective actually is, throughout this series.

sackrifice · 29/04/2019 14:18

If Ted was H and he gave Lisa the command to end it, why would he ask where Clayton was?

sackrifice · 29/04/2019 14:27

And why did he wink at Kate when she told him he couldn't just waltz into the nightclub?

That really annoyed me.

MyRankIsSuperintendent · 29/04/2019 14:35

@popehilarious that's a good point. The Denton storyline was the whole series and it's a similar storyline dealt with in a hurried manner.

wowfudge · 29/04/2019 14:40

I think it's a natural progression through the series though - it's now apparent there's a common thread behind much of the police corruption encountered and connections where officers have worked together over many years.

Carmichael may turn out to be the biggest crook of all.

Ted has always had some shady connections, but fundamentally has been a good cop.

PeaBea · 29/04/2019 14:52

Does anyone think Steve might develop an addiction to painkillers next series?

JackieLavertyIsInMyFreezer · 29/04/2019 15:13

Anyone listening to Adrian Dunbar on Five Live now? Not giving us much to go on!

ElenadeClermont · 29/04/2019 15:19

@Peabea I thought that.

MrsChollySawcutt · 29/04/2019 15:26

I've always thought it odd that our Ted went after Tony King in S1 when he wasn't really a bent cop at all. The final episode where he walks into traffic after telling Steve that it has to be in the line of duty or his wife and kids get nothing is the stand out of the whole series for me.

popehilarious · 29/04/2019 15:27

Ted didn't have much to go on himself, his toilet was broken!

wigglypiggly · 29/04/2019 15:32

Dot was trying to talk on his dying declaration which Kate recorded but in s4 e5 you only see the bit when Dot blinks.. You dont hear what Kate recorded. Maybe the dying declaration has been altered and h doesnt exist at all, maybe Dot blinked at another letter.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 29/04/2019 15:35

H has to exist -havent the OCG/John used the term irrespective of AC12

NorfolksGiven · 29/04/2019 15:39

Could H be Mrs Hastings? How long have they been married...im.sire this was pointed out last week... do they go way back... . could he be somehow protecting her .. because he still loves her or because she has had info from him and he'd be in the shit.

Corbett visited her because he thought it was Ted...

Hell hath no fury ....

And Ted said loudly... The FELLA that did this ... Not necessarily a man is it?!

wigglypiggly · 29/04/2019 15:45

I dont know, maybe it's a red herring, maybe its Hendon or Headquarters. Could Hilton have sprede the rumour as he showed Ted the tape where Dot blinked. You dont see the blink bit in the episode when Dot dies and I dont think you hear his dying declaration.

popehilarious · 29/04/2019 15:48

You hear Dot's dying declaration in a later episode, after Hilton obtains it

popehilarious · 29/04/2019 15:49

I think, anyway!

wigglypiggly · 29/04/2019 15:51

Do you, I couldnt find it. I could only see when Hilton shows Ted.the.tape where Dot blinks, Kate and Steve are told to leave the room. I'll have another look.

JamesBoredom · 29/04/2019 15:53

It is a bit odd how we don’t know Mrs H’s vocation.

MalevolentPrawn · 29/04/2019 15:54

An ex policeman thinks H denotes a place.. as in Flat H ( Terry living in Flat B).

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/04/2019 15:56

This is completely totally out there but is P.C.C. Rohan Sindwhani involved. Something bugs me about him.

Line of Duty definately part 3.

emsiewill · 29/04/2019 15:59

I think this might be a continuity error rather than a significant thing, but when you see the forensic people in Ted's hotel room, it's clearly 337 on the door (I went back and checked while I was on my second viewing of the episode). However, in the interview with Carmichael, they both say it's room 336....any thoughts?

Forthepurposesofthetape · 29/04/2019 16:05

Has anyone tried asking their Alexa who H is?!

FreshAprilStart · 29/04/2019 16:05

@TracyBeakerSoYeah

Yes yes yes. There has been a sort of Asian link theme throughout???

But there is also a Northern Ireland theme.

I dunno. Totally confused.
