I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Agree with others, they already knew corbett was a rat and Ted is doing his own investigating. If Corbett had been arrested by Steve he wouldn't be dead. Interesting if Ted is working with Lisa - she might have told him it was urgent to bring him in as there were plans to deal with him.

Bloody hell that poker scene....hands up who else was holding their breath??

Yes!! i was holding my breath/thought i would vomit!! I actually jumped and screamed when they slit his throat.....

I noticed definately.....but none of the other officers did so maybe that was deliberate.

Why are people feeling sorry for Corbett, when he tortured Mrs H?

I'm desperate for it not to be Ted. And I like the theory that it's Gilly. But would a lawyer really mis-spell definately?

I noticed the misspelling of definitely last week. I thought it was game over when Ted did the same. Hope not.

I still think it's Cressida Dick. She's so unconvincing as an ACC that she must have some other role to justify her existence. Cracking telly. Night all.

Lise is UCO working with Ted and they’ve agreed he will misspell definately so she can be sure it’s him. They had to let the OCG know Corbett was a UCO (Lee Banks passed it back to them after Ted told him) because he was going to accidentally blow their op apart.

Thought the scenes of Corbetts wife reading stories and saying how much daddy loves you, whilst he was lay dying,nerd a bit mawkish and trite.

The rest of it was torture.

Osborne is counter terrorism from back in series one. He wanted officers to lie in court after a shooting fuck up but Arnott refused

Are we going to see Ted framed at the end of the series and then Series 6 will be about uncovering the actual truth?

I think he misspelt definitely to be in keeping with impersonating H. They had all of the data from the original chats so would know to do that.

Yes I spent ages trying to work out what they were getting at here - still none the wiser though!

So it's making it look like Ted is dirty but surely this is a red herring. I have the following theories atm:

1. Corbett was being influenced (by IRA/ personal reasons) to go after Ted and make him look bent. A weakened AC12 would be good news for the criminals. Ted is being framed

1. Ted is deep undercover acting bent to find out who is also crooked.

1. Ted is unsuspecting of other operations. I think Kate's up to something she's been too quiet and content.

Definitely think H is a woman(surely not Kate) and Ted has to be involved because the "definitely's" matched and "close it down" was code. I don't think he meant kill Corbett, I think he was master if his own destiny with his gang realising he was the rat and Lise doing what she needed to.

I think it was that they were able to trace Corbetts original identity from when he joined the police - as all police have to give their fingerprints so that they can easily be eliminated from investigations.
This enabled them to trace his real identity back to his birth, including his parents and his foster parents.

but they already knew his name surely
