I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ted got the money from the man who said he would help hum get the money back that Ted lost in the property scam, that guy was previously Rob Huntley’s rep from series 4 and I can’t believe Ted would trust him!

Mrs Ted's injuries weren't old injuries, they were inflicted by Corbett.

Apparently the injuries to Teds wife on her hands and wrists etc are common with IRA ( well that’s what Twitter says)

Lisa is definitely a UCO. We haven’t seen her kill anyone and the tears at the end.

My theory is that Ted had something to do with the child sex ring. That’s why Corbetts wife said about ‘are somone’

Corbett was so blinded by his quest for justice that he totally took his eye off the ball. I think Lisa's tears were not just for John but for herself as she has realised what a fucking terrifying world she's working in.

Lisa could have given Corbett the info re the meet with H as a test to flush him out. So nothing to do with Ted at all. Although separately Ted could have given Corbett away. Or Ted could have been speaking to Lee Banks about something else, nothing to do with Corbett.

I think John said Anne Marie who we later found out was his mum who died when he was 10 I think, his dad died a few years earlier.

Didn't Arnott explain to Kate during the hospital scene at the start that the knees wrists and ankle injuries were to do with known techniques of paramilitary groups in Ireland?

I cannot wait another week for the next episode. I was practically hyperventilating at the end of that one!!

Wasn't the cash Hastings got from the property developer guy - he mentioned it in the last episode about giving him money to put down as a deposit (loan type thing). No idea how that would work though. And why would he give him the money when Hastings said he hadn't had a chance to look through the paperwork? You'd send it by bank transfer too.

I’m traumatised, I couldn’t watch, I was almost crying. Last week I didn’t care if John died, this week nooooo. I have to listen to Mrs Teds tape and the birth certificate info again, although I’m sure it will confuse me more.

Yeah I predicted when Steve and John had the terse stand off that John would die this episode . Wish I had been wrong though .

My dh is convinced that Ted is a good 'un and spelled 'definitely' with an 'a' on purpose to mimic 'H'. After all the encryption woman had access to the messages, no? so they would be able to work out if there weer patterns with spellings and such? Mind you I do agree that Hastings went too far when he sadi things needed to be 'brought to a close', signalling Corbett's death. .

Bloody hell that poker scene....hands up who else was holding their breath? ?

OH's theory is that Ted has taken on the persona of 'H' to flush out the real bent coppers, but he isn't actually bent. I shall cling to this idea for my own sanity.

Yeah I had a sneaky feeling John would die this episode, more so after the phone call with his wife.

I couldn't make head nor tail of Mrs H'a recorded message so I'm going to have to watch it on subtitles when the baby is asleep tomorrow.
