Do we need this or is there another one already started?

I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ignore me if there is a new thread already on the go. If not feel free to use this one mate.

He said he knew that Steve had met her once. How? Did he? I thought he just said 'I think we've met?' and she said 'Um, maybe once...', squinting at him as you do when you're not sure if you remember someone.

Why identify himself as someone else if he's planning on killing her and leaving no witnesses anyway? I'm puzzling about this too. I thought at first he was planning to frame Steve for killing or kidnapping her, but if he killed her there's no one to say it was Steve anyway (unless he's brought DNA to plant...?).

And if he's planning to kidnap her, once she's found, which she would be –or if the plan goes wrong and he fails to kidnap her – all they need to do is show her Steve's face and she'll be able to say no it wasn't Steve who did it.

I’m sure he asked Roisin Hastings whether they had met - which sounded odd to me (because surely ‘Steve’ would remember) and, I assumed, raised her suspicions enough to call Ted. Or maybe that was because he was holding his (fake) warrant card in front of his face?

But I’m sure that I’m over-thinking, which is generally how I pass the time btwn episodes 😀

She'll call Ted and he'll dash over to her flat and they'll find there's no one there then dash over to Steve's place, but it'll be a bit like The Silence of the Lambs when you realise the Swat team are at the wrong house. Steve will be getting it on with Sam as they burst in looking for Mrs H.

I presume Mrs Ted will ring Ted and leave a message if he's too busy sha*ging Gil saying that Arnott has called to her,

I don't think Mrs Ted is going to have time to phone anyone before she's tied up.

If Ted really was 'H', with access to both police files (where the mole's home address and wife's details would be his to access) and also a hardened crim (with access to other hardened crims) wouldn't the mole be fearful of 'H's reaction?

He asked her if they had met as Corbett isn't going to know and wanted to make sure his cover would work. He was checking if she'd recognise him.

Very good points Diesel and Bold. Maybe she'll get cut off mid-call and Ted'll have a missed call from her?

It's all so bloody confusing and I just want to bloody know what's going on now. It's getting on my nerves and I feel it's being too clever for its own good now.

Surely they can't have Steve being framed again, can they? They did that the series before last when Dot made everyone think he was the caddy. I assumed he just used Steve's name because he thought she'd be more likely to let him in the house if she'd heard Ted mention him before.

I thought he wanted her to call Ted and ask if she should speak with steve and then he would be framed? But is she in the midst of something with the bent-ex-copper property guy....? He might be around and scupper the plan....?

I don't think he did want her to call Ted cos as soon as she did, he made his move getting in the house ASAP...

Minister, it would be a bit repetitious, yes. It was just the mention of planted DNA in another context made me think that maybe it was something Corbett would use for himself too.

Why did she not shut the door? She left it on the chain and he is going to burst in and either she won’t get a chance to call Ted or it will be recorded on his answerphone

I think there's more to Mrs Ted... we know very little about her career. I posted earlier about Corbett calling her ma'am at the door (so could she be police/ex-police)?

I wondered that about Mrs. Ted too. Also, I like the idea of her taking Corbett by surprise and kicking his ass.

Yes @WhoWants2Know - I'm hoping Corbett breaks in and is greeted by Mrs Ted in a balaclava wielding a bazooka

Right, I've gone in with series 1 to get my groundwork sorted. I had forgotten how much I miss Dot and Nige! And Steve looks soooo babyfaced. Ted's all very enthusiastic too, poor sod is just browbeaten and miserable now. I like sparky Ted.

I would love it if Mrs Ted responded to Corbett, 'I grew up on the Falls Road ye wee bastard, d'ye think I can't look after myself?' Whilst kung fu-ing him across the room then finishing him up off with a cosy teapot to the head. Alas I'm not expecting that.

really wish they would upload the whole lot to iPlayer so that I could just binge watch the lot
