Do we need this or is there another one already started?

I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ignore me if there is a new thread already on the go. If not feel free to use this one mate.

I now think Ted believes he's in danger and the laptop is with someone who will look after it and give it to AC-12 to help clear his name if/when he's set up. There way too much coincidence around what's been happening and Ted isn't stupid. Although he may have been threatened and stupidly not told anyone - his work life is pretty much all he has now.

LindsayDentonsCat · 15/04/2019 15:41

I have no clue what is going on. Not a clue. But I'm enjoying it.
I really hope that Ted comes to his senses before he gets aboard the bad ship Gill.

Save Mrs H!

"There was a scene with Corbett's handler (vaping black policewoman with very short hair) "

Was Powell her boss & Corbett suspected Powell of corruption?

wowfudge · 15/04/2019 16:06

I'm on a speculation roll - I think Ted thinks Gill is up to no good so getting her back to his hotel room is all part of his plan. He didn't seem remotely interested in her - less so than last time they had dinner.

jamiecooks · 15/04/2019 16:28

I was literally on edge of my seat last night - cannot wait until next week!!!

jamiecooks · 15/04/2019 16:28

And given I hate Sunday nights it’s the only thing making them bearable (though will not hate next Sunday night as it’s a bank holiday Monday)

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/04/2019 16:42

Yes, I can't see Ted genuinely falling for Gill. She was an absolute caaah to him last night.

LindsayDentonsCat · 15/04/2019 16:45

By which I mean Mrs Hastings. Not H!

EnormousSexyCrimeUnit · 15/04/2019 17:09

Yes, there was no chemistry at dinner with La Bungalow. Hoping for a cunning plan from the big fella.

I like the theory that Ted was transferring the laptop data rather than destroying it, absolutely no need for bubble wrap otherwise. Need to go back and have another look at the shop he took the computer into.

placemats · 15/04/2019 17:13

I can't even begin to believe that a pp suggested that because it was made in Northern Ireland there was a spelling mistake. C'mon young fella!

It's quite obvious why the laptop went; Biggelow texted Ted for a dinner date. He knew he was going to be mocked. The big fella doesn't do shifty.

I think the acting from everyone is A*.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/04/2019 17:15

The shop he took the laptop to was called something like "ComputersCompletelyWipedAndDestroyedForeverRUs".

OneofPansPeople · 15/04/2019 17:15

Bungalow Gill is so unworthy of Ted, what is he thinking.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/04/2019 17:16

I want the Jackie Laverty corpse to be discovered - but maybe that won't happen til the final series, the whole story coming full circle n dat.

placemats · 15/04/2019 17:17

We didn't see B and T doing the deed though.

Did we?

beanaseireann · 15/04/2019 17:17

Poor Mrs H.
What will Corbett do ?
Apart from blame Arnott!

EnormousSexyCrimeUnit · 15/04/2019 17:17

Bibbity

Grin

Fairly unambiguous, then?

placemats · 15/04/2019 17:18

Jackie's corpse has already been discovered in a freezer.

placemats · 15/04/2019 17:21

Poor Mrs H my arse. She's got herself a new fella and is insisting that the big fella sign the divorce deeds. She's not a shrinking violet.

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 15/04/2019 17:26

@bibbitybobbityyhat she just confirmed he'd gone rogue and said that he was feeling the pressure from Powell to keep getting at the small fry and not inch his way to the bigger stuff. She said he kept getting asked to investigate smaller stuff and he knew he was onto something but wasn't getting any help from higher up. She then confirmed the code name H.

Pomegranatepompom · 15/04/2019 17:37

I’m not sure if I’ve missed something, but why would H have gone to the raid? The OCG aren’t really in a position to make demands on him??

Pomegranatepompom · 15/04/2019 17:40

H also pretty rubbish as a code name, can’t believe relates to a surname.

WhoWants2Know · 15/04/2019 18:06

Corbett demanded "H" to appear at the raid to ensure that H would be assuming equal risk- thus ensuring the bent cops would do their part to make sure the OCG weren't caught.

LindsayDentonsCat · 15/04/2019 18:13

H isn't a code name though. As he was doing Kate asked Dot to spell out the name of the person at the top using blinks. She only got as far as getting Her from him. So it's all they have to go on.

PullUpTerrain · 15/04/2019 18:20

I was on the edge of my seat! Also shouting at Ted for messing about with Gill. She's a snake.....

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/04/2019 18:42

Jackie Laverty's body is in a domestic freezer in a flat where the tenant is a man with Down's syndrome and the police he called to tell about it cba to take him seriously or investigate further (S2) - where a recurring theme was the plod had too much paperwork to do and didn't have enough time for actual detective work.

Or am I wrong?
