I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ted is going to miss the call from Mrs Ted because he was lost in a stupid moment of passion with Jill and is going to blame himself when she's found dead and he could have helped. He's going to lose it and do something silly.

Agree Jill could be H.

And how did Hargreaves die when John definitely shot low to take his legs out, you could see he did it quite precisely
Think the blood pumping out was supposed to be from the femoral artery as it was back of the leg.

I'm sure that at this point in past series people have thought the same. There's a big twist in the story coming.

Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying it but can't believe for one minute that an undercover officer who still seems so desperate to catch the bad guys one minute is shooting dead coppers (even bent ones) and breaking into officers wife's flats the next.

H isn't Hargreaves, too obvious.
Listen up fellas, that photo of Dot, I think it was definately (see what I did there) a red herring. We didn't see the identification, just the photo that Steve and Kate gave to Hastings...

I’m finding the girl in the criminal gang really inconsistent. In the doesn’t episode she was shaking like a leaf, now she’s completely intimidating and seems to have John on the back foot much of the time.

I also don’t think Cafferty id’d Dot. It’s not Hastings tho, too many “Ted Herrings”

Feel a bit sorry in a way for John now, it isn't going to end well for him.

So Hargreaves was visiting the brothel and the OCG were collecting his DNA to blackmail him. And he arranged the diversion.

But John assumes that Hastings is bent because he made snap decisions in favour of preserving life?

Totally agree about Lise. Where are all her shakes gone? Now she's all flinty eyed.

DS and I have decided to watch from series 1 again and see if we can figure it out. DS wants to do a list of pros and cons for each character being H he seriously needs to get a hobby

So I reckon someone finished Hargreaves off in hospital to make sure he couldn’t speak out. I think gill could be H, surely if you were trying to be covert you wouldn’t call yourself ‘h’ if that was your initial! But to be fair I am stumped! And I didn’t have a clue who Hargreaves was...I thought it was the property deal guy!

But H was never a codename. It was Dot's attempt to spell out a name to Kate , so the h was all they had to go on.

If Hastings was taking his laptop to be destroyed why did he wrap it so carefully in bubble wrap first?

How can you post when it’s on? I have to watch with subtitles anD concentrate VERY hard and I still miss bits.

I listen to two different LoD podcasts - obsessed with line of duty (official BBC one) and Shrine of Duty, then watch the episode again! Full emersion.

Rather liked the little nod to The Professionals with Kate and Steve using the call signs 3,7 and 4,5, which were Bodie and Doyle's call signs too.

Haven’t been able to watch tonight’s yet so placemarking for tomorrow. At the end of S4 I was sure that H is the murder squad guy, and I notice he popped up again in episode 1 of this season. I think Ted might be a UCO though... maybe?!

It takes me about 90 minutes to watch. I have to keep rewinding back in case I missed something. My poor brain can't keep up. Same as PPs I thought it was ted when the balaclava came off first.
