Do we need this or is there another one already started?

I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ignore me if there is a new thread already on the go. If not feel free to use this one mate.

Maybe she wanted to go to the toilet to either call John or retrieve something important from the blocked cistern?

And surely Ted has higher standards than to be contemplating sex with a woman who has been mocking him all evening Sad

UCOinanOCG · 14/04/2019 22:05

I think this series is deliberately more murky and hard to comprehend. We are supposed to be baffled at this point before things start to come together to make more sense.

Maybe Ted is aware of Gill seemingly playing him but actually he is playing her but far more subtle about it

Clawdy · 14/04/2019 22:07

The sex trafficking storyline is becoming a cliché now. Baptiste, Shetland and now this. And how many times did Vicky McClure say "Shit" !

minxthemanx · 14/04/2019 22:07

I too think Jill Bungalow could be H. We're led to assume it's a senior male police officer. So bldy exciting tonight, cracking telly.

FleurNancy · 14/04/2019 22:07

No no no no Ted, not Smarmy Gill, she is SO up to something. Bent as a paperclip that one.

But why is John going after Mrs Ted? And how did Hargreaves die when John definitely shot low to take his legs out, you could see he did it quite precisely. He didn't want him to die, he wanted him to pay.

So. Many. Questions.

Taswama · 14/04/2019 22:07

John was expecting the police to turn up and arrest everyone including the top guy (H?) but they went off to attend the other incident which was a diversion.
Is that right?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 14/04/2019 22:08

I’m going to be totally honest here. I have LOVED all previous series of LoD and I was ridiculously excited about this series. I follow MC, SG and VM on Twitter. But, but, but... I’m just not wowed by series 5 so far ShockShockBlushSad. I really want to love it, but so far, I’m not sure... Anyone else feel the same??

costacoffeecup · 14/04/2019 22:08

@FleurNancy the blood was spurting out so he must have hit an artery I guess?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 14/04/2019 22:08

The cistern and the spelling of definitely must both be clues. Nothing is accidental, surely.

Jesus, between this and Game of Thrones I will be a nervous wreck by the end of the week

Piggywaspushed · 14/04/2019 22:08

I am sad to say I slightly agree avon :is it the moving to primetime BBC1 that's done it?

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 14/04/2019 22:09

Poor Ted. Mocked by that horrible woman Gill and now Mrs Hastings! Why on earth did he invite her back god only knows, she's wicked. I think she's in on something.

Genuinely though it was Ted when Kate pulled back the balaclava though.

Good episode but a little bit too much going on - I dunno why John was so angry at Steve knowing he'd have superiors calling orders. Seems Hargreaves knew the raid and set a diversion, but to what need I don't know. I'll watch it again tomorrow 😂

costacoffeecup · 14/04/2019 22:09

@AvonCallingBarksdale I agree, this is the first time I've actually forgotten it was on and had to be reminded! That could be because I was distracted by game of thrones though...

FleurNancy · 14/04/2019 22:10

@costacoffeecup But I thought the spurting came from much higher up the body?

PrincessScarlett · 14/04/2019 22:13

John thinks H is Hastings. That's why he was upset he killed Hargreaves. Hargreaves was a scapegoat for the real H. John is meant to be high up (but undercover) in OCG but he's starting to realise he's not and someone is double crossing him.

I think H is Gill too. Ted is being set up to either take the fall as H or be blackmailed into working for OCG.

WhoWants2Know · 14/04/2019 22:13

Could there have been a second shooter? The camera focused several times on the blood flowing out of Hargreaves back onto the pavement.

NoisyBrain · 14/04/2019 22:13

Is it Gill or Jill?
What if Kate misinterpreted Dot's dying declaration (due to it being a somewhat tense situation, lol) and it was actually G he was trying to blink for, not H.

Mammyloveswine · 14/04/2019 22:13

Another one who thought it was Ted when thr balaclava came off!

I barely remember hargreaves...

Steve is looking rather attractive in this series misses point of thread

wowfudge · 14/04/2019 22:14

I still think Hastings isn't H. Roisin's call will stop Ted dtd with Gill, who is a wrong un. Yer fella trying to get him to invest money he doesn't have is clearly trying to ensnare him too. And the laptop - it's all part of a plan to get the most senior non-bent copper to turn and join the bad guys because AC-12 are closing in on H, although they don't realise it.

Corbett is, incorrectly, convinced Hastings is H. I think his agitated state with Steve has been put on until that last meeting in the multi-storey car park. He now thinks his only way out is by revealing Hastings as H. Except he's not.

NiniTheMouse · 14/04/2019 22:15

Taswama: I think that's right, yes. Not clear whether the person who turned up was H, or just H's messenger.

If something needed to be arranged via the brothel then it wouldn't have been with the person on the end of the computer chat, 'cos surely they already knew about it.

wowfudge · 14/04/2019 22:18

I think Hargreaves possibly isn't dead btw and it's a cover to flush out what's going on.

Hepzibar · 14/04/2019 22:18

Totally agree with this. Had same conversation with friends who are LOD addicts.

Looking back on previous series, Gates, Lindsey Denton, Roz Huntley were all characters who were so much more interesting, intriguing than Corbett. The action is too confusing. Don't like Kate being a higher rank than Steve, it adds nothing to it - in fact detracts from the team.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 14/04/2019 22:19

I’m going to keep going with it, fella, but for me it doesn’t seem to have the excitement of the Tony Gates/Caddie/Lindsey Denton storylines yet. Gill won’t get on too well in the bathroom as the toilet doesn’t flush in Ted’s hotel room Grin

EnormousSexyCrimeUnit · 14/04/2019 22:21

Am sure I held my breath for the last 10 minutes - too tense! Also thought it was Ted when the balaclava first came off even though it wouldn't have been a credible reveal at this stage.

I think previous series have had a more charismatic lead - Gates, Huntley, Denton, Cottan have all been great characters. I'm not nearly as emotionally invested in John Corbett and wonder if that's why I'm not quite as enthralled by series 5. Still great telly, though.

UCOforAC12 · 14/04/2019 22:22

I thought that Grin
