I remember Kate B when she was a serious actress playing Emma in the Austen dramatisation, and some Shakespeare. Then she became a Hollywood Barbie.

I’m finding this oddly unengaging so far. I think there should have been a bit more scene-setting - instead it went straight into the plane crash without giving us much time to know or care who the husband was.

She is weirdly Barbie-ish for someone who used to seem so serious and thespy when she started out, but she had a return to form in Love and Friendship a couple of years ago.

It does remind me of the John Simm thing (same writers) : foreign person suddenly seems entirely unfazed in foreign country despite cultural and language barriers and being told that things are 'very dangerous'

And who was Charles Dance??

Did we all notice there is no love lost between Kate B's character and Alex Kingston's? They didn't hug when she arrived.

I must say it speaks volumes that I have no idea what the characters (otehr thna Emmanuel) are called!

The young boy, btw, is in Deutschland 86, if anyone watches.
