Who is the weird welsh bloke????

I am so confused

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 30/04/2019 21:58

Well that was the biggest load of ‘white saviour’ bollocks I’ve ever seen.

SheeshKebab · 30/04/2019 22:00

Well I guess that's how🤷I'm glad she got Adidja. Overall, it was crap though. 4/10😒

Honeyroar · 30/04/2019 22:00

Gah! It didn't work, did it!

Liar, The Bay and The Widow- progressively more crap each time. Think I will stick with Game of Thrones!

Ellieboolou27 · 30/04/2019 22:01

The whole programme was shit, so breathtakingly boring, the hairpiece will haunt me

purpleme12 · 30/04/2019 22:03

I don't think the programme was shit I think it actually had promise but I have to say the conclusion episodes didn't really make me feel satisfied. I don't know. It wasn't what I was expecting

frillyfarmer · 30/04/2019 22:45

I mean the ending was cliche but I actually quite enjoyed it. Miles better than the hours of shit diet and money programmes on ITV and C4 at the moment!

captainpantbeard · 30/04/2019 22:49

It went from vaguely ridiculous but enjoyable to absolutely shite in the last episode. I almost turned it off except that I can’t give up on things (like Georgia)

Shenanagins · 30/04/2019 23:21

I enjoyed it but don’t know where the welsh bloke came into it.

Also interesting to see, albeit briefly, the link from the mining and corruption to our lives via our phones. Now that made me ponder.

purpleme12 · 30/04/2019 23:22

I want sure about that bloke either. Or the bit she said at the end when she saw the dog

And I thought there was clip where the husband turned up in Wales to see Georgia?

spannerintheneck · 30/04/2019 23:28

No will turned up at her hotel room so he could go to the authorities about what happened!

What I'm confused about, is the general had the dead people that haunted him, who was the white blonde woman? That's the first person who haunted him but they never explained who she was?!

purpleme12 · 30/04/2019 23:29

God knows it's clear from this thread I didn't follow some of it!

NumbersStation · 01/05/2019 03:14

The only thing that would have out twee'd the twee would have been if she'd whistled the dog at the end and it had jumped in to go to its new forever home.

I'm with captainpantbeard - the last episode was fastforwardable and the rest wasn't.

Although in the real world she'd have been dead by the end of the first episode.

And why was she pristine for most of it? I'd have been sweaty, dirty and would have filled my tenas with fright that much, I would have looked like I was packing a penis.

Invisibleiink · 01/05/2019 07:23

Ok, so I was wrong about Josh!

The thing with the Welsh man, when did we think that took place - after Georgia had returned home from DRC or before she saw Will on the tv? I was mystified by that - initially thought he was going to be her new love interest (he seemed nice at first!), but was the point to show that she doesn't like giving up, and that she is strong and won't put up with unreliable men? Very strange interlude!

Small point - what is Georgia living on now - income wise, I mean?

2rebecca · 01/05/2019 07:42

Agree the Welsh bloke shouldn't have been added as he confused the plot and didn't add anything to it.
I thought it was a flashback to her life before going to Africa initially and she was going to return to him. Why would the posh ?godfather just turn up with Adija in the middle of Wales and where were they then all driving to at the end of Georgia's home was in rural Wales? Agree she had no visible means of financial support. How would she work and look after a girl she's known for 5 minutes who will rapidly get homesick? Silly ending.

KnifeAngel · 01/05/2019 07:52

Well that's 8 hours of my life I will never get back. What a load of rubbish it was.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/05/2019 08:05

I quite enjoyed it in parts but didn't pay full attention. It could easily have been two episodes shorter too. Georgia did seem a bit like the Terminator - absolutely driven in her mission come what may (which didn't entirely seem realistic).

Think those Williams Bros need to pause their productivity for a while, as they're in danger of sullying their brand.

juneau · 01/05/2019 08:21

Well that's 8 hours of my life I will never get back. What a load of rubbish it was.

I agree! What a load of predictable, clichéd, far-fetched nonsense.

BentBaastard · 01/05/2019 08:57

Her fake tan, fake hair and fake acting are so fake I want to scream.

Dreadful and I’m not at the end yet.

diddl · 01/05/2019 09:08

"And I thought there was clip where the husband turned up in Wales to see Georgia?"

Me too!

It could have been good!

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 01/05/2019 09:12

And we never did find out the relationship between her and Charles Dance Confused

purpleme12 · 01/05/2019 09:26

I think he was a family friend

diddl · 01/05/2019 09:30

Wasn't he a friend of her dad?

Probably confused with something else, but I had the feeling that he was her godfather, or had been asked by her late father to "look after" her?

ZandathePanda · 01/05/2019 09:58

Maybe the dog was a metaphor for Georgia? Running free/ shaking off the nasty man? Dh was annoyed that I mentioned the swishy ponytail as it had a starring role last night and was driving us both mad by the end. That was a quick adoption process too and it looked like it was the first time the girl had been to the hut. Surely she’d have been looking round and playing/ marvelling at the snow? The last 5 mins were mad.

Honeyroar · 01/05/2019 10:27

It infuriated me that she didn't go and find Welsh bloke and tell him she'd seen the dog.
