I haven’t gotten to the actually interview yet but I can guess what’s gonna happen.

I’m a cid officer and we interview other officers suspects frequently and you have to pick up the case quickly and think on your feet during interview. Hopefully they will have done an interview plan which I can follow which gives a starter for ten.

But an interview in this scale with no time to get a good handle on it? It’s always going to go badly.

Now to watch the interview......

Nicknacky · 02/04/2019 02:17

It’s not bad actually. He’s nervous but absolutely so would I if I was interviewing someone knowing it would be broadcast on national tv without having intimate knowledge of a case. He gains in confidence during the interview. Interviewing isn’t easy and not something you can just wing.

As for the mute comment from a previous poster..... only speaking for our training but we have a lead interviewer and a 2nd interviewer. The 2nd’s job is to basically monitor the interview, catch anything the lead may have overlooked and be there in support. We wouldn’t have both interviewers routinely asking the questions.

icelollycraving · 02/04/2019 06:30

Thanks for the info. I’ve seen (in tv not in person!) there is a quieter one bit but thought they would contribute a bit.
I’m surprised they got a result on him at all. Thank God for DNA.
It must be a seriously stressful job without the pressure of cameras, point taken.

Nicknacky · 02/04/2019 12:58

ice Remember we were only watching a few minutes of what would have been a long interview. She probably did ask questions.

Sometimes I don’t ask a single question in an interview if the lead has covered everything, no point asking something just for the sake of it.

I actually thought the guy was going to work. He really made the police work and I think was lucky to get off with what he pleaded guilty to. But I think it’s a sad indictment of society that once you have gone down that path - it’s not always to get out of. Found the snippets from his brother very interesting

Hels20 · 06/04/2019 15:27

Sorry “walk” not “work”!

HollowTalk · 08/04/2019 17:48

That dealer got such a low sentence. And all that crap about him travelling the world looking for roofing jobs - who did he think would believe that?

SouthWestmom · 08/04/2019 21:30

RandomMess · 08/04/2019 21:32

Nicknacky · 08/04/2019 21:58

Pilcrow · 08/04/2019 21:59

Ginger1982 · 08/04/2019 21:59
