Total arrogance.

He could just have sold the antiques if he needed the money for his second house renovation.

Lost his career, no doubt his marriage, won't see his kids growing up. I like how he's been allowed to keep the antiques but the police have put an order on them forbidding them to be sold. He can spend his life once released sat with his candlesticks and fireplace!

This one is horrible - that poor woman

TwistinMyMelon · 15/04/2019 21:46

Astounding how they took so long to suspect murder, woman covered in bruises with a fat lip?! 🤦‍♀️

TwistinMyMelon · 15/04/2019 21:47

I hope he doesn't get away with it

Nicknacky · 15/04/2019 21:51

twist We had a similar case. The doctor that pronounced death said it was a medical death and it was only at post mortem a few days later that it was discovered he had internal injuries. I think it’s two males that are now convicted of murder for the one I’m talking about.

We are guided by the doc (plus obviously taking into account other info)

And injuries aren’t unusual in alcohol related deaths. But it’s still a nightmare to investigate after the fact.

ssd · 15/04/2019 22:01

The police do such a fantastic job, I don't know how they manage.

TwistinMyMelon · 15/04/2019 22:01

Thank goodness for that. Glad he got what he deserved

Groovee · 16/04/2019 16:46

What an awful situation. Felt for the mother knowing that her Dd would have been coming home.

creamcheeseandlox · 16/04/2019 22:28

Where I work, No way would that have been deemed non suspicious. We have to check the body over for marks and al those injuries would have alarm bells ringing from the start.

Nicknacky · 16/04/2019 22:32

cream I’m being generous! But it’s seconds of a programme we are seeing.

We are very risk averse in my force when it comes to deaths but if a medical examiner seems it non suspicious (without any other suspicious info at that time) then usually we will keep the locus secured until pm.

But we do occasionally get notified from the PF (I’m in Scotland) of deaths that have been deemed initially non suspicious at the time that they want us to investigate a day or two later.

cushioncovers · 18/04/2019 12:22

I was also surprised they initially thought her death was accidental/alcohol related she seemed covered in bruises.

Cocolapew · 18/04/2019 22:33

I thought showing her body was disrespectful. We know what dead is.
I was also surprised it was deemed alcohol related so quickly.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 19/04/2019 07:36

Yeah, I was surprised that they showed her dead body. It was distasteful and unnecessary.

qazxc · 24/04/2019 14:36

I assume that the family would have given consent for the photos to be shown.
I had an member of my (extended) family die due to drugs, her parents consented and indeed wanted the (police) photo published. They wanted to show the horror of it in the hope it would save someone else. They couldn't do something like donate organs but wanted some good to come from a terrible situation.
I was concerned at a small child staying in that flat (cot in bedroom/ stuffed toys).
The younger man that called the ambulance also didn't seem to fit with the other 2 men (age and lifestyle wise); although they probably called him over to make the phonecall and told him what to say as he had good english.
