How good does the trailer look!

So excited for 31 May Grin

I'm torn between rereading the book before or waiting until after

Downloading for the next week's commute

costacoffeecup · 31/05/2019 00:59

I've not heard of the book but saw the trailer today and thought anything with Michael sheen and David tennant must be worth a watch.

BayTrees · 31/05/2019 01:00

Wow! My people! Driving home from holiday on Friday and desperately hoping we can stay awake long enough to watch the first episode when we get home. Dinner is carefully planned to suit watching TV. I love the music video of The Chattering Order of St Beryl. I made DH listen to the radio version on CD a few weeks ago in preparation and I've been counting the days. I really hope it's worth the anticipation.

Havalina · 31/05/2019 01:06

I'd love to know what people who haven't read the book think of it

TyneTeas · 31/05/2019 01:28

Shall we keep this spoiler free?

OP posts:
ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 31/05/2019 01:32

I will keep this spoiler-free:

I love it.

I just bloody love it.

Here's to the End Times.

Havalina · 31/05/2019 01:33

Watched the first episode and I absolutely loved it

Havalina · 31/05/2019 01:34

Going to watch the rest with my sister tomorrow, it's so good, was smiling the whole way through

TyneTeas · 31/05/2019 01:35

First episode watched. So so good!

DH is being a grown-up and it is apparently now bed-timeHmmHmm

OP posts:
TyneTeas · 31/05/2019 01:41

I think it episode 1 was very true to the book but the fact that Neil Gaiman did it means that any bits that maybe aren't quite how they have been in my head for the past few decades don't matter because it is how it was in NG's head!

I was in London yesterday and my route took me past this 'shop' and car parked opposite!

I have found my people!

Quite fortuitously today the children are off out with grandparents and I have to wait in for a parcel so I have the perfect excuse to watch it on a big screen telly (instead of my phone) all by myself with no interruptions. Hurrah!!

I shall binge as many as I can fit in today Smile

Parvuli · 31/05/2019 07:56

Will it be on Netflix?

Pascha · 31/05/2019 09:32

Since Amazon and BBC made it together it will be on BBC later in the year but Netflix has no rights to it for now.

SpamChaudFroid · 31/05/2019 13:53

I didn't think it would be on until 9 or something, but thanks to this thread, I know I can watch it now!

I'm so excited for this, it's the first TP book I ever read. I just finished watching. American Gods yesterday and thought it was just brilliant.

I really wish my name was Agnes Nutter in real life.

Going to watch now, OMGOMGOMGOMG

PantsyMcPantsface · 31/05/2019 14:05

Watching it at the moment - had my reservations about the casting initially (despite loving DT I didn't fear he'd do it "right")... but it's brilliant.

SpamChaudFroid · 31/05/2019 14:23

Gah! 10 minutes into the first episode and the internet connection on the TV keeps going. Why? It's supposed to be superfast broadband.

TyneTeas · 31/05/2019 15:38

I watched the first four. So so good!

BellMcEnd · 31/05/2019 16:33

I am beyond excited. I’ve read the book about a bazillion times. What kind of age would you say it’s ok for? DS9 is Dr Who obsessed so was wondering about this for him

BellMcEnd · 31/05/2019 16:34

(HE’S AGED 9, I don’t have 9 boys. Can you imagine the washing?????) Grin

SisterMaryLoquacious · 31/05/2019 17:03

Just taken the DC to Aziraphale’s shop in Greek Street and posed with Crowley’s Bentley. Played an entertaining and successful game of “guess which few people in the crowds getting off at Leicester Square are going to the same place as we are”. It’s a very small exhibition of art/props/costumes, but cute and just up the road from House of MinaLima, the Harry Potter graphic design shop/exhibition, which makes a nice morning out.

NicoAndTheNiners · 31/05/2019 17:12

I've seen the first 4 as well and really enjoyed them. Its the sort of programme which will need watching more than once I think for it to all sink in.

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 31/05/2019 17:37

It's brilliant. I'm kind of in a post-apocalyptic daze now. It's just so brilliant.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 31/05/2019 17:40

I believe it's a 6 month wait til it's on the BBC.

HelenaJustina · 31/05/2019 17:47

Yay! Had forgotten that it came out today. Will be logging on tonight and watching as many as DH will tolerate...
