Anybody else planning to watch tonight? Part 1 of 2, 9pm, Channel 4.

I'm very intrigued to watch. I remember the Martin Bashir documentary being aired years ago, and the various backlashes/criticisms that happened afterwards.

He might not have abused all the children he came in contact with. Leaving high profile child stars alone would create plausible deniability. His family have everything to gain from denying the accusations. They live off his legacy.

Some people are saying Jimmy’s dad has spoken out that he doesn’t believe that jimmy was abused. Has anyone seen that?

James Safechuck Snr did not appear in the documentary, is separated but not divorced from James's mother, it was mentioned in part two that he had been in ill health...as far as I know there has been no comment at all from him regarding his son's disclosure.
He was told in 2005 along with James's mum so that neither would testify again (although allegedly MJ's people said they would go after Wade and Jimmy for perjury from 94 if they recanted/did not testify in support again. James didn't testify but he may have signed a legal paper?)
Given that James's father swore to the Grand Jury at the time of Jordy's settlement that MJ was like a son to him and he was as enamoured as the mum, as well as the gift of the house, he has to bear the weight of that.
But has not commented in 25 years afaik.

the simple answer to your objections..I hope no-one close to you is ever abused when yiu are so willing to play along because you like his music, or whatever.

By not abusing all the boys he was friends with I wonder if he was doing that deliberately as he knew he would then have credible witnesses for his defence if any of the abused boys spoke out?

Oh come on, an adult man has a series of little boy friends over a period of 25 years, picking them up aged 9 or 10 and dumping them by 14 or 15 - what possible reasonable explanation could there be????

Taj also protecting the absolute shit tonne of money he will be due to eventually inherit from the multi million pound MJ estsate - much of which could be wiped out if everyone stops playing the music and the back catalogue becomes effectively worthless Thats all the estate is based on. Who better to be out forward by the MJ family/estate caretakers to try and limit that than a minor jackson who has previously talked about being sexually abused, to lend credibility.

They haven't been paid for the documentary and both have already had law suits against MJ's estate dismissed. Interestingly this was because they were deemed out of time. No mention of there being no credibility to the case.

He said if there was even a 1% chance he thought his uncle was guilty of anything, he would have said so. He was there, he also knew what it was like to be abused so he would have been able to relate

So because he doesn't believe that his uncle was guilty that means he must have been innocent? Unless he was in the same room as MJ twenty-four hours a day how could he possibly know for sure that nothing untoward occurred with these other boys? As for the other boys you mention, maybe they weren't abused. Just because Jackson didn't molest every single child he came into contact with that doesn't mean he didn't abuse any of them.

Cal but his cousins and nephews would only inherit if MJ's three children and his mother did not outlive him. The four of them did.

So...Taj will inherit from Katherine's personal wealth and assets if he is included in her will as one of her grandsons but according to the terms of MJs estate/trust he is not entitled to MJ's money left to his mum.

Exactly Minister. He wasn't in the room at the time of the abuse of these two boys. Jackson went to great lengths - as was explained in the programme - to distance the boys. Who on earth puts bells on internal doors?

I read that one of the victims was told by MJ that a few of his nephews were also 'loved' in his special way.

There is also the awful album cover/promo piece for the nephews band - MJ with a nephew in his underwear with his pubic hair in view.

I have young children - boys and the thought of them staying overnight with a man in his bedroom is so abhorrent.

I am fortunate in that I have not been abused but I can totally understand why an abuse survivor won't come forward for decades after the abuse.

We don't let our children stay overnight at friends. They have only stayed with their grandparents.

My husband has not suffered abuse but had 2 cousins who was sexually abused and my husband checks everything out as a result of this.

His parents (my in-laws) were open about this abuse happening to their nephew once I was seriously together with my husband.

My in-laws talk about the sexual abuse as a family about how the mother and father fell into trust a family friend who abused their children. They speak about how after the wider family of aunts and uncles also felt like they had failed these children and the corresponding guilt is something I would never want to have as a parent.

My husband's family theory now is that if you make everyone who you come into contact with that you check out safeguarding every time then you put any predators on notice not to mess with your children. As a case in point when our sons were in nursery he used to spring surprise visits on the staff. He checks out every teacher and tutor.

How sad that the families did not protect these boys. How sad that they were groomed too.

I was thinking the other day of the gymnasts who suffered abuse by Larry Nassar sometimes in the same room/ time as their parents were in the room.

Abusers go to terrible terrible lengths to snare their victims and they groom the parents and structures around their victims first.

He and James Safechuck concoct a story so salacious, so scandalous so despicable, and presents it to HBO for a one sided EXPLOSIVE televised documentary of LIES... in hopes that the Michael Jackson BILLION DOLLAR ESTATE will settle with you financially to make this documentary go away.

Well that documentary of LIES will air this weekend.... and unlike the Jackson's past... this new generations of Jackson kids are not having it!! they are suing HBO for airing your lying ass!!

I hope when this is all said and done, the estate counter sues YOU in civil court and WIN! I hope it renders you penniless for the rest of your life. Michael Jackson was good to YOU, your mother Joy and your sister Chantel.... and because your gravy train has run out... THIS is how you repay him. You are a sad excuse for a human being!!!

For any of you who thought Michael Jackson was strange... I get it... because there is no one else on earth to compare him to. Yes, there are other child stars who grew up to "blend in" to society...and i get it... But when you are Michael Jackson and the only thing on earth that is more recognizable than you is the yellow "M" at McDonalds..... that in itself is "Strange!"

Anyways.... i say... boycott the documentary... and if you MUST WATCH... know that you now know the basis of the scandalous lies contained within the documentary!

What a load of bull the Clyde post is.

I think the documentary has been eye opening for many people who still seem to think paedophilia is about people like the child catcher in chitty chitty bang bang - you know the really obvious ones with big dark coats and long claws who take screaming kids away and lock them in cages etc ... That’s the “comfortable” perception of what a paedophile is. People want to see that kind of monster because they feel that they can easily identify them and hate them.

When the reality for lots of children in this situation is more like the one MJ and others like him create. There is so much emotional and mental grooming and manipulation people end up questioning themselves, whether they themselves were even victims - when of course they were.

People don’t like that, they don’t want the complexity of the whole Stockholm syndrome thing. It’s not clear cut enough for lots of people to grasp. That’s why the documentary is so good, it really shows the long term manipulation of these kids / young men.

utter bull, as is the idea that Taj Jackson wont be profiting in any from the MJ estate.
