The thread is full.

The virus is spreading will Holby be ok?!

Maybe he’s gone back to his Klingon Home Planet

Kronos! And that is so true, he does stress words in a peculiar manner Grin Alas, he will be back.

Re the consultants - they've been doing that a lot more recently - one or two episodes of one half of the team, then you don't see them the next week and they focus on the rest of the staff.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/03/2019 07:25

OK, caught up last night and am not glad to see that Archie is every bit as annoying as I anticipated. What kind of smug cow thinks they're too good for induction day - the only thing that cheered me up was the fact that she didn't have her ID, etc, as a result of it. And at the end, we found out that she was some kind of whistleblower - are we meant to feel all sorry for her now and that she's some kind of moral crusader? Nope, still an annoying cow.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 26/03/2019 07:50

How long is it since Connie was attacked - a month or six weeks?

RedForShort · 26/03/2019 08:07

Did we?!! Well that totally passed me by!!! Presume whistle blower about treatment of staff in her last place then? (That was what she was talking about to Connie wasn't it? I evidently wasn't paying attention.)

OP posts:
DiseasesOfTheSheep · 26/03/2019 10:55

Yea she whistleblew (as it were) as a result of finding a colleague who had taken an overdose. How convenient that her backstory parallels the zeitgeist of the department at Holby, who will, of course, be more receptive to her at this point than any other...

Acis · 26/03/2019 12:19

The whistleblowing meme is a bit hackneyed. Wasn't that the excuse for whatsherface who died swapping from being a doctor to being a paramedic?

I think Connie was attacked a month ago.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 26/03/2019 18:42

Yes, Acis, that's why Sam came back as a paramedic apparently. And she's not the first either!

sushisuperstar · 31/03/2019 02:03

Goodness me Duffy is getting exceptionally annoying. Argh!

RedForShort · 31/03/2019 06:26

Anf Charlie's not fat behind!

Though his words were quite true at the end. Possibly better delivered in a slight less hyperbolic way and during an assessment in private.

Did the two story feel slightly unfinished? The one with the two sisters didn't even feel introduced. No build up!

Mind you the build up with the boy and girl did have the #bringbackthechainsaw feel too it.

OP posts:
QueenofmyPrinces · 31/03/2019 07:54

Why was Charlie so horrible to Jade?

What she said was out if turn but Charlie’s response was very horrible, especially to say it in front of people, and very out of character? I can’t tell if it was his way of letting out his fear and upset over Duffy’s diagnosis?

The sister storyline was pointless and not at all interesting.

So the new Locum is Paeds and an old friend of Ethan’s. I wonder how long it is until it comes out that new doctor is actually in a relationship with Alesha..... Ethan’s Ex who went off to do Paeds training. Would Casualty ever be that predictable though..... Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/03/2019 09:09

The new locum registrar looks about 25!!! Clearly I'm getting old...

I think Jade's remark was the tipping point for Charlie - he will have to share Duffy's prognosis with the team soon, as it's clearly getting way too much for him to cope with alone.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/03/2019 09:10

QueenofmyPrinces, you may be onto something there...

Acis · 31/03/2019 09:54

Why are they so obsessed with having consultants in A&E suddenly? Is that the norm?

I don't understand why patients keep banging on about how long doctors have been working in Holby. Surely their experience anywhere is what is important, not their experience in that particular hospital?

QueenofmyPrinces · 31/03/2019 12:53

Where I work we have three wards and a designated A&E and all the doctors of all grades work across all four areas and of those there are 8 Consultants.

I don’t know what the standard number of Consultants there should be in an general A&E department though...

RedForShort · 31/03/2019 13:56

Oh Charlie totally lost it with Jade because he's on the edge with worry about Duffy. Absolutely why he shouted in public. But she is a lazy oink (I suspect a full 180 is on the cards for the future.)

OP posts:
Acis · 31/03/2019 19:34

I'm ancient enough to remember the very first Casualty episodes when they had only one consultant, and Charlie was a sweet young thing.

RedForShort · 31/03/2019 20:38

On the night shift!!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2019 13:31

Yep also saw the 1st episode. Many years ago

Glad Duffy finally told Charlie but he needs to tell the other esp if she ends up hurting a patient accidentally

New consultant. Annoying. And yes course she needs to do the one day course and not be an arse about it

Optimist1 · 01/04/2019 15:32

As a health professional, Charlie should know that Duffy's condition is not something to be hushed up as if it was something shameful. The staff would be supportive if only they knew the truth.

I watched the first episode too, Brenda Fricker was Megan Roach.

I liked the locum/new consultant but really don't like the other new one (Archie?), and there hasn't been enough Dylan recently.

purpleme12 · 06/04/2019 21:18

Well that was unexpected
