No, there was football.

Bouldghirl · 17/03/2019 15:55

No Casualty last night! Sob Sob! Bloody Football!

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 17/03/2019 19:22

But both Holby and Casualty are better than bloody football!

(I'm in a minority there, I know Grin )

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/03/2019 14:00

Wondered why wasn’t on my sky planner

Bloody football

megletthesecond · 23/03/2019 20:36

Do we know why the woman was beaten up outside the hospital the other week?

UnspiritualHome · 23/03/2019 21:53

When a new female doctor turns up and is called Archie, you just know she's going to be annoying.

QueenofmyPrinces · 23/03/2019 22:40

I can’t make my mind up about the new doctor yet....

I really didn’t like Connie this week - and she looks so, so thin.

Auldspinster · 24/03/2019 16:45

Need more Dylan.

RedForShort · 24/03/2019 17:55

Can't make my mind up about new doctor either. Annoyingly or entertainingly straightforward type.

Lots of comments on Connie' s weight on social media. The actress was on Twitter defending herself saying she doesn't have an eating disorder:

I’m forced to address something I’d hoped not to. My weight. Luckily for some of you & your insensitivity I am not struggling with an eating disorder. I am in extreme & constant back pain and have been for nearly a year. Standing for 11 hrs a day takes its toll. End of.

Poor thing.

Charlie's 'acting' failed the challenge as ever last night.

I can't work out why they are down a consultant. Have I missed someone leaving? Ethan is still there, isn't he?

RedForShort · 24/03/2019 18:15

Don't think that matters Isitmybathtimeyet, something as minor as numbers when it comes to Holby recruitment!!

Think there might be another new character next week.

OP posts:
Isitmybathtimeyet · 24/03/2019 18:17

I know that! I just wondered if I'd missed an 'on the day' consultant departure given how speedily they disappear!

RedForShort · 24/03/2019 18:23

Maybe. Could have been cleaner who trained as a doctor in six weeks at night school, straight in as consultant, then left after one shift to become a lead brain surgeon in New York.

OP posts:
RedForShort · 24/03/2019 18:24

(Except we didnt see all that because the football was on.)

SoupDragon · 24/03/2019 19:05

I think they've been short a consultant for ages

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 24/03/2019 19:44

Short a consultant? With Connie, Elle, Dylan AND Ethan all consultants, surely that's more than we've ever had... Short a registrar, though- that would be Alicia's former position. They do have very unorthodox recruitment policies, for sure...

SoupDragon · 24/03/2019 19:59

They don't seem to all be there at the same time though.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 24/03/2019 20:21

No Ethan last night. They may well suddenly be short a consultant to give the new doctor a storyline arc, but the 'sore spot' line made me feel I've missed something. Maybe it was just a reference months ago in a single episode.

Optimist1 · 24/03/2019 20:30

Yes, Charlie's acting was dire last night - the scenes with him and Duffy reminded me of school kids reading a play in class.

Can't help but feel that if Connie actress were to abandon the killer heels for a while her back condition would be relieved, but I have no medical qualifications to make such a suggestion!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/03/2019 07:19

Haven't watched Saturday's episode yet but saw the trailers of the new doctor...why are "edgy" characters all the same? Ooh, let's give her short hair and a bloke's name and that'll make her edgy and cool. No, it'll probably just make her tediously stroppy. Has she got a dark secret in her past? Probably. Is she arrogant and mouthy but we're meant to admire it as go-getting confidence? Probably.

Like I say, haven't seen it yet - am I close?!

QueenofmyPrinces · 25/03/2019 07:34

Ooh, let's give her short hair and a bloke's name and that'll make her edgy and cool.

Completely agree!! Casualty is predictable when it comes to its characters and is awful for perpetuating stereotypes.

I said the same when Marty appeared....They introduce a male nurse so surprise, surprise they wrote him as gay and camp. Yawn.

It drives me mad!

As an aside, although I don’t like Jacob I am wondering where he is?? It like he’s disappeared.

RedForShort · 25/03/2019 07:40

Didn't Jacob go off to do some dancing? Or was that last year? Mind you I can't recall if there was a reason given for his absence whenever he did.
