Rash is lovely. A bit sad that Gem seems to have dumped him. Is that the end of their relationship then, do we think? Hope not!

The whole Rash and Gem thing was a bit odd. How has she got the money to stay over there when she barely scraped together the cost of a discounted flight? Probably just a way to get rid of her now that Iain's leaving.

I think Gem went to the same travel agent who booked the trip for Lofty and his grandmother to tour the US for weeks on the small winnings of a lottery ticket (can’t remember exactly but it was barely a four figure sum if at all)

Yeah it's just a plot device for her to leave isn't it cos it just doesn't feel real. Shame

Well I'll be disappointed if that is it for Gem and Rash. The writers could have just forgotten all about her.

I reckon that's it for them. I don't think she'll be coming back

Gem only had her own storyline when she was first introduced and she had all that YOI stuff going on. After that, she was mostly there just to moon around after Iain and give Rash something to focus on
Now that Iain has left and Rash has a new nemesis, there's not much else for her to do.

Am I the only one disappointed that we won't be getting any more Dixie/Jan scenes? I probably wouldn't mind getting injured if I thought those two would turn up to look after me.

Not seen this for a while - I thought Gem got the money to go and visit Rash, but he's back and she's not? Am confused!

He came back because his mum died - I think he was meant to be back just to say goodbye and for her funeral, but then he had to stay longer because his dad wasn't coping and now he's apparently back for good.

To be honest the whole thing about Rash coming back without Gem and then Gem just dumping Rash in the worst way was a bit stupid I think. It didn't really ring true. I don't know why they couldn't have done everything a bit differently

I do recall that in a storylines teaser (POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT) for Casualty which I read not so many moons ago, it mentioned the ups and downs of the Rash/Gem relationship arc. From that (and I can't recall more than the bare bones of it), it's possible that it might not be over.

Rash seems to have lost his joie de vivre but guess that's to be expected with Gem off the scene, his mum dying and having to cope with the horrid newbie doctor who really is a snake in the grass.

I can't help wondering why they didn't just send Gem off when Rash first went travelling as that would have made more sense him coming back without her.

Also Gem appears to be taking the walking out of a job at the end of the shift you decide to go to a new level, isn't she supposed to be on holiday?!

I want to know what's going on with Ethan. He used to be sweet. I think there's some PTSD there he's not dealing with. He nearly died and he's back at work still healing his wounds!

He's likely to lose his license to practice the way he's going and if he hooks up with Effie that will be very strange given she's his friends daughter 😳

New doctor fucks up again. How soon before he kills someone and blames others?

This new doctor is really annoying - every episode so far he's been a dick to Rash in some way.

Also, at the start of the episode Iain announced he was applying for HEMs but by the end of the episode it seemed to be his leaving do and his last shift?! Characters leave very swiftly on this programme don't they...

Sad to see him go though.

I just had to stop watching and delete the episode halfway through. I am so fed up with the new doctor, I can't stand that story arc and just stopped watching

Same with holby if I'm honest. The whole Evan thing is too soon after the Isaac thing and dull. So I've got 3 episodes on iplayer to delete and skip over.

I'm not feeling casualty at the moment -the new doctor Mason is awful. I'm not a David fan and he seems to be taking a much bigger role

But at least Duffy is off screen for a bit

The new doctor is awful, but last night's episode made me feel slightly more interested in knowing what his story is. I still think it could be credible that he isn't a real doctor. He didn't know how to interpret an ECG, and when an actual emergency procedure was needed he didn't even try to help. Could he be a nurse or HCA who's faked his credentials? Like that drama a few years ago with Jodie Whittaker.

I'm glad Rash has started standing up to him, though.

I'm finding it a lot more enjoyable without Duffy in it and of course the insufferable Effie.

And I know he was popular but I'm glad Ian is gone now, I found there was always too much focus on his issues etc. New paramedic seems ok. I really like Rosa.

I’ve always loved Dylan. He gets the best lines! I do think it’s weird the way he has completely reinvented himself from the bearded alcoholic of a few months ago, though.

We haven't seen Dervla for a while.

Rosa keeps confusing my dog (also Rosa) as every time they say her name she looks around 😂

Last nights episode was ok but it's a bit slow right now. Proper need to have a story line to get teeth into.

I don't think new doctor is fake just useless and desperate to prove otherwise (super dangerous in other words). If he's an F1 his standards and stuff will be online and wouldn't exist without him being kosher. That said if he managed to convince them he was a transfer he might of wangled it. Or taken someone else's identity. Far fetched though.

Since when was far-fetched an obstacle to the Casualty writing team?

I don't mind Rosa but I find David quite boring most of the time. I only like him when he's doing a double act with Dylan, and I couldn't care less about his bratty son.

New paramedic Lev seems promising. Although I have just done a health and safety course so I am now thinking of him as a big ventilation system. I agree with a pp that, although I liked Iain as a character, there was too much stuff about his issues so I wasn't really sorry that he left.
