When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

I really really don't want to say this because I have loved him for so many years....but I am home alone and need to confide in someone....
(Whispers) I think Ted is showing his age......

Hels20 · 07/04/2019 22:16

I think that if they get rid of one of the triumvirate - the series will start to go down hill. I never thought Luther was the same after his side kick was murdered.

But I agree it might need a bit of new blood.

Felt v sad about Ted and Mrs Ted....

Piggywaspushed · 07/04/2019 22:17

Reckon that's whet Gill Bigelow was thinking , too.

ButtMuncher · 07/04/2019 22:17

I've had a think about that chat client. I reckon it could be generalised IM system. If H is a police officer, as is John, and probably Lise (are we still going down that path) it could be that something the police track, and that Hastings looking at it isn't as suspect as we think. I agree there is far too much exposition set up to make it seem that Hastings is bent.

My theory is that he was offered a lot to go rogue, and he was tempted with the financial difficulties and to win his wife back but pulled out at the last minute. He will feel immense catholic guilt about it (we've heard all along how seriously he takes it) and he's worried that somewhere along the line his previous and potential waivering to the dark side will be unearthed. To Ted that would seem corrupt. I don't think he's corrupt. But I know they're going to play it as if he is. That would explain the shifty behaviour.

Charley50 · 07/04/2019 22:18

Looks like the OCG are well suspicious of crazy cop. Maybe he knows too much about where the police store drugs and munitions etc. I think he'll get killed off by them soon. Or have to go undercover from them. Grin

Amongstthetallgrass · 07/04/2019 22:18

I not sure if it was Ted as none of them looked towards his room - as they would naturally if it was him

I think Steve will be bumped off just when he gets back with his ex.

Charley50 · 07/04/2019 22:19

I like your thinking Buttmuncher.

maxbabi · 07/04/2019 22:19

My son and I have been rewinding and rewatching the last scene. We don't think it's Ted (wishful thinking) wish I could zoom in

BTatemyhamster · 07/04/2019 22:20

OK crazy prediction; it's not Hastings but Arnott gets taken in by charismatic undercover cop and inadvertently helps the dark side, which will seal his fate.
Undercover is a 'natural leader' and I think we can all agree that is accepted code for 'psychopath'.

Poor poor Steve. Unlucky in love, health, and now, career cos he so wants to have a success and that's his Achilles heel.

JakeBallardswife · 07/04/2019 22:21

It’s buttock clenchingly good!

Rollergirl11 · 07/04/2019 22:22

She won’t have shown a photo of Hastings. Kate said that they were all photos of police that had proven links with organised crime so she can’t show a picture of Ted. I’ve just rewound and watched over and over. The pictures she puts down are: Cole, Prasad, Hilton in the top row. Then Fairbank, don’t know the next one, Cottan. I’m pretty sure she points at the last photo. So she points to Dot. I think.

Hepzibar · 07/04/2019 22:23

Gotta have a wtf moment. Like in Cracker when they killed Christopher Eccleston (for those of us a bit long in the tooth). I've never got over that. Why do they do that? How is killing off our favourite characters good?

PurpleKittyKnitting · 07/04/2019 22:23

Ryan from series one is back.

He spoke tonight, when the kid in the bike filmed Steve. He named Steve I think

My daughter was at college doing drama with the bloke that pleated him as a child and now!

Lala503 · 07/04/2019 22:25

BT -That's exactly what I was thinking

Pomegranatepompom · 07/04/2019 22:25

That cracker episode was so upsetting.

Re the UCO, he seemed so genuine when he was talking to his wife, it felt like v genuine, he's a lot to lose.

ElspethFlashman · 07/04/2019 22:25

But if it wasn't Hastings, why did K & S look so shocked???

John is BATSHIT. Kinda lost my sympathy raving about Maneet like that.

He's definitely gonna die - wish they weren't signposting it so much with all that "the rat got a new identity but we still found him" and the anguished melodramatic phonecall home so we remember his sleeping child and weep when he bites it.

BabyDueDecember2019 · 07/04/2019 22:26

Can someone build a time machine so it can be next Sunday please!

pepperpot99 · 07/04/2019 22:26

OMG I nearly died from holding my breath during that last half hour. The scenes with Steve and John were electric Shock. Stephen Graham is just on fire.

Whose photo did Cafferty ID? that was just torture to watch.

I agree that we are being led to believe H is Hastings.

I was right in that Steve and Sam slightly got back together although as I said before she needs to beg a bit ( or a lot).

The computer convo was sooooo thrilling! then when a message pinged through to Hastings' laptop....Shock.

mostlymindblown · 07/04/2019 22:26

No idea who H is but reckon Steve's involvement with rogue not rogue policeman and his non disclosure to Kate will inadvertently cause her demise

ButtMuncher · 07/04/2019 22:26

@PurpleKittyKnitting yep he named him, but said it was Steve Arnold rather than Arnott. That was enough though.

Pomegranatepompom · 07/04/2019 22:27

I think I need to rewatch, I started to talk to DH as I was so tense and missed the Maneet rant.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 07/04/2019 22:27

*played

BTatemyhamster · 07/04/2019 22:27

Meanwhile, Kate will get bored with her back on track life. She doesn't do contentment, she's gonna kick over the traces.

Ted is straight but deeply and catholicly sad
Everyone lets him down and or doubts him, what's the point? Who needs the moral high ground if it costs you your life and you end up in a travel lodge boiling an egg in the kettle for your supper?

Violetroselily · 07/04/2019 22:29

So do we think Stephen Graham is bent or not?

Violetroselily · 07/04/2019 22:30

I would love it to be Hargreaves. Would explain why he's been such a thorn in AC12's side
