When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

God I HATE spoilers in trailers!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/04/2019 15:06

Remember though that Steve was banged up towards the end of series 3 (Dot's work), and he came out smelling of roses.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/04/2019 15:09

God I HATE spoilers in trailers!

I don't see trailers as spoilers as you don't see anything in context. They're meant to whet the appetite for the show, so have to show something from it!

tinstar · 04/04/2019 15:44

Her promotion seems to have been very swift

I think at the end of the last series Ted has discounted Kate for promotion because she didn't have as much experience as Steve. But then Steve was in a wheelchair so presumably no longer eligible, which just left Kate in the running to replace Dot.

CoolCarrie · 04/04/2019 16:00

A friend of has just let on that he is the agent for the lad who plays little shit Ryan! He is delightful that Gregory was called back for the part. I have asked him for any clues, but to no avail, he has kept his month shut for a year now so no chance of any spoilers

NoWordForFluffy · 04/04/2019 16:39

I agree, tinstar. DH and I had that very conversation on Sunday.

It's also 2 years since the last series, so it not indecently fast given the small pool of potential candidates.

My friend's hairdresser's niece plays Lise, but hasn't given anything away at all!

DarlingNikita · 04/04/2019 17:07

There is no way that Kate or Steve are corrupt and if Ted turns out to be H I’m never going to watch telly ever again

My feelings PRECISELY.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 04/04/2019 17:19

They won't be corrupt, but inevitably they will commit some minor misdemeanour or other - concealment of which will hamper proper anti-corruption work. (Remembering Steve and the questionable visit to Ms Denton's house.)

LostInShoebiz · 04/04/2019 17:56

It was just a fumble! He’s a single bloke!

If you can cope with hearing the word “like” 400 times in 45 minutes there’s a good podcast on BBC Sounds called Obsessed with Line of Duty.

FindPrimeLorca · 04/04/2019 18:44

That female journalist on the podcast is a shocker for saying, like, like, every like other like word isn’t she? You can tell she’s only previously worked in the written word. Better in the second episode though - I think the editor may have got to her and applied some kind of electroshock aversion therapy.

CraicMammy · 04/04/2019 19:40

Has anyone listened to Shrine of Duty yet? The AC-9 to Obsessed’s AC-12?!

drquin · 04/04/2019 20:36

Switched to Shrine of Duty podcast - loving it. The BBC Sounds one annoyed me far too much 😂

Italiangreyhound · 04/04/2019 20:47

Wasn't there a bit of an issue with Ted thinking he couldn't have work related chats with Kate in the pub?

LostInShoebiz · 04/04/2019 21:41

Yes. He was baffled at the thought of speaking to a woman off duty and outside of a romantic context. The more I’m on this thread the less I like Ted.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 04/04/2019 21:54

Oh, yes - I remember his pub hesitation. The word 'tribunal' formed a little thought bubble above my head.

In my past corporate life the men used to play cricket in the corridor - women were never invited to join in ...

CraicMammy · 04/04/2019 22:08

I am reminded of a number of former male bosses when I think of Ted 🙄

But I still think he’s a great character in this show.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/04/2019 22:15

Yeah, he said that it would be like going for a drink with Pan's People or something like that.

He's a bit of a dinosaur is Ted!

Huntlybyelection · 05/04/2019 01:16

Just caught up with ep1 and this thread.

Oh Maneet Sad

pepperpot99 · 05/04/2019 13:00

I've rewatched episode 1 and I have a new theory as to the identity of 'H' .

What if it's not a person?

I think it's H for 'heroin'.
The top boy ( or girl ) running the smack will be H. That's my new theory.

Thoughts?

icelollycraving · 05/04/2019 13:11

I think I mentioned H in the van full of H further up the thread.
It’s LOD, anything is possible! Wonder if there will be a bag of H in Ted’s loo.

icelollycraving · 05/04/2019 13:42

That sounded a bit snippy, wasn’t meant to be.

Soverytiredofeverythinggoingon · 05/04/2019 14:50

OMG Shrine of Duty is so funny!

WhiskersPete · 05/04/2019 21:32

I’ve just realised what’s going to happen! Kate’s going to go under cover to I filtrate the gang! This has probably been mentioned upthread but I’m late to the party.

LostInShoebiz · 05/04/2019 22:54

Can she really do UCO work after winning that award?

Northernexile · 05/04/2019 23:51

Just to throw a belated two penn'orth in re 'Gerard', I live in NI and am married to a very definitely Catholic Gerard. Seems a fairly regular Catholic name around these parts too (Tyrone).
Anyway, Ted absolutely cannot be H
