I love the Oscars, always have. Haven't seen another thread yet. Posting this for red carpet/fashion/ceremony twaddle. Hopefully some of you will join me later

I think Glenn Close's Oscar is long-deserved. Wouldn't mind seeing Reg win for best supporting. Think Black Panther would be worthy enough for Best Film but not sure it will, it would have got a win in the best popular film until they binned the category. Interested whether the Guardian's doc will win and who wins best short. Is it Amy Adams's year finally? no And will Anita Dobson be watching Adam Lambert and Bryan May performing Bohemian Rhapsody on stage?

Bottom 3 for me were Tom Jones, The French Connection and The Sting. Also hated Unforgiven.

I ADORED Wings (1927), The Best Years of our Lives (1946), Marty (1955), Midnight Cowboy, Million Dollar Baby and Out of Africa because Meryl Streep but the Sound of Music is always number 1! Loads of amazing films.

DH's list is quite different!

I like Shakespeare in Love as I used to have a crush on Joseph Fiennes from when he was in Meet Frank, Daniel and Lawrence.
But word has it that Harvey Weinstein (aka Pervy Wankstain) pulled in a lot of favours for it bought votes in the same way Scientology did for Crash.

@RageAgainstTheVendingMachine enjoyed Crash (sort of, think enjoyed might be the wrong word!) but it's below the mid-point in my ratings (yes, we have done a rank order each!). Have a bit of a soft spot for Shakespeare in Love but it wasn't as good as I remembered it....

I am still S1 with B99 and still not feeling it watch one or two eps and then leave a huge gap

But B99 just feels like all the characters from Parks And Rec renamed and rebranded as cops
