I'm a bit confused by some of the current living arrangements....
Who lives with Eileen?
Is Sean still living with Billy?
Does Claud live with Ken?

Oh look! Sinead and Daniel. How many weeks since we last saw them? This story, the way they’ve done it, makes me so angry.

What the chances the roof caves in on the factory and Gary gets the blame?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 25/02/2019 20:38

Bloody hell, the way Klayton runs

That was hilarious! Grin

AutumnCrow · 25/02/2019 20:43

It really was, wasn't it? Like Phoebe in Friends.

KlutzyDraconequus · 25/02/2019 20:48

Dang, no summary tonight as I've not watched it. Bedtime was 'fun' tonight, holidays have that effect on children..

ILoveMaxiBondi · 25/02/2019 20:48

Yes phoebe is right! Grin

ILoveMaxiBondi · 25/02/2019 20:53

Sympathies klutzy! Grin

AutumnCrow · 25/02/2019 20:57

Well, Gina quit the crumbling factory, Roy's being all terse, Kirky is wearing makeup like a John Paul Gaultier model, and Daniel is glued to his laptop as that's the only way he'll pass his MA in Gritty Northern Literature.
Shona is now in the Gina Club of being accused of things she didn't do, and Clayton runs like Phoebe Buffet in churchyards.

ellenanora5 · 25/02/2019 21:01

When the vicar was giving the eulogy at the funeral she sounded like she was reading a bedtime story to three year olds.

The escape was hilarious "NOW" and nobody moves for what seemed like ages.

I feel sorry for David

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 25/02/2019 21:44

I feel sorry for Carla never thought Roy could be so heartless, their relationship will never recover and it’s such a shame as I really liked the dynamic between the two of them, Roy brought out Carla’s caring side, I find it really bizarre how he has turned on her.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 25/02/2019 22:16

I don’t really understand Roy’s reaction. He is a very logical man. There is no way he doesn’t get exactly why Carla did what she did. His reaction is completely disproportionate to what she did, particularly because he knows it was to protect him. He knows it wasn’t about Abi. Is it grief over his mothers death? Is he taking it out on Carla.

Thesearmsofmine · 26/02/2019 10:03

The Roy/Carla thing is very odd, he would never turn like that. It’s like they have new writers who have never seen the show before.

It’s all very odd the way they have left the Sinead storyline alone for weeks. Like someone else said it means you don’t get invested into the story or care about what happens.

FedUpOfBrexit · 26/02/2019 12:40

Ha Omg Clayton running was terrible.

Why do baddies in soaps never seem scary at all just stereotypes of what people think baddies are like?

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 26/02/2019 12:52

I only watched the first episode nut may now have to subject myself to the second, just to see Clayton running!

eddiemairswife · 26/02/2019 13:11

I'd clean forgotten about Sinead and Daniel. Is the baby still in hospital?

Iwantacampervan · 26/02/2019 13:30

Just when you think it can't get any more ridiculous -
Gary (well known for being a structural engineer) decides that the roof is unsafe and needs replacing and Carla just accepts this as fact (no photos for evidence) and also his figure which was plucked out of the air as we didn't even see the workings in the notebook this time. No sign of second/third opinions or insurance.
As for the funeral - words fail me!
I think we'll also find that Claudia is involved in the house somehow and put in a bid to up the price.

Iwantacampervan · 26/02/2019 13:31

How has Gail had such a transformation? She has turned into a simpering shadow of her former feisty self - watching Classic Corrie I can't believe it's the same person.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 26/02/2019 13:58

I know Roy is grieving but he seems to have had a complete change of personality. It just doesn't make sense. I feel like the writers are trying to set up a scenario where Carla is pushed to her absolute breaking point (what with Roy rejecting her, the police on her back, the thing with the factory roof) but personally I think she's been through enough shit. I'd like to see her happy for a change, she's one of the few characters I can stand at the moment!

thenightsky · 26/02/2019 14:03

What they've done to Gail's personality between classic corrie and today is criminal.

Deadringer · 26/02/2019 16:27

They have all had personality make overs, and not for the better. Didn't the factory get a new roof about a year or two ago when Eva was getting her revenge on Aidan? I seem to remember the roof was all but gone after the place was plundered. If so Carla could sue those builders or make them come back and replace it. I can't believe no one has mentioned insurance, the policy would cover halted production, wages erc. I know it's fiction but there should be a dash of realism now and again.

PremierNaps · 26/02/2019 16:48

I agree quotes would have gone in to the insurance company

AutumnCrow · 26/02/2019 18:15

It would have had a loss adjuster crawling all over it, surely?

Housewife2010 · 26/02/2019 18:25

I think Phelan fixed the roof last time so it's bound to be dodgy.

AutumnCrow · 26/02/2019 18:47

Those roof timbers were metaphorically sewn together with the sinews of Phelan's victims, the ones that the new writers don't seem to have ever heard of whilst giving all the actors personality transplants.

keepondreaming · 26/02/2019 18:47

@Deadringer The factory did get a new roof but Phelan did the job. Garry said it had been bodged and Phelan had cut corners and put in supports that were much too short.
Of course, Carla believed him. No questions asked. Could find £60k for Gary to do job without even asking for advice or other quotes.
Silly silly Corrie.

keepondreaming · 26/02/2019 18:48

Xpost with @AutumnCrow whose response is far better than mine!!
