I wonder if the wife has put something in the husband’s brain to make him go loopy and submissive? That would tie in with the nails in the scrotum with the other patient.

I think she's the one who puts the nails in. She's controlling her husband and the patient who had his throat cut. She's the driving force.

I also think she is going to work out to be the main culprit. She's too big a name to just have a side part.

It's great to have such great female parts on big TV series such as Luther. They are all murdering psychopaths who pander to male fantasies, but it's progress

You can always tell though, when a bigger name makes an appearance then they always have the bigger part. Without fail. I've no clue who the dude playing her husband is, but she's a household name. C list, but still household.

As such, she's thr twist in the tale. She tortures them, possibly even kills. But ultimately it's going to be all about her. He's the support act.

I thought the surgeon was fantasising about saying that to his patient pre-op. Just as he fantasised when she was on the operating table.
I have dealt with surgeons who are seriously lacking in any sort of bedside manner. I think they prefer you under anaesthetic as fast as possible so they can get onto the golf course. Or in this case crawling around the top deck of buses murdering strangers.

The actor playing the surgeon is married to Sienna Guillory who played Mary in Series 3 - slightly drippy love-interest of Luther's.

Luther only ever wears the same clothes. If you see a shot of his bedroom there is a rack of grey shirts red ties and lovely tight fitting trousers. Oh and a couple is the same coata

I wonder if the person they framed is their child ? If they had bits of wire etc inserted over years had they done it then 'disposed ' of him ?

I’m annoyed they wrote in that Alice and Luther got together. There was a beautiful tone to their relationship because it wasn’t romantic. Plus they are implying that Alice is a bit soppy for Luther. I don’t believe this is her character at all. I thibk she would just want sex for pleasure rather than sex with specific person she felt connected to.

Agree, I’d rather they hadn’t got it together.

She did come across as a bit needy ‘you’re looking the wrong way’ which isn’t her at all.

@stoorihooser - i mean, if you watched from episode 1, Luther tries to change his clothes several times but gets interrupted or called to work etc. by someone or another. So literally, he is wearing the same set of shirt and trousers.

Having seen the trailer for tonight I'm not sure I'll be able to watch it to be honest. Having a c section in a few weeks and the potential torture operation scene is probably not what I need to see 😬
