Oh my good god. Just coming to the end of the first new episode. Thrilling.

Idris is also not bad to look at!

I think it's something like that Hazle. HN said something about "while we can" or summat.

Bornlazy · 02/01/2019 22:43

I have to say I am finding this a bit confusing Confused but totally loving it too. I’m glad it’s on every night as I binge watched all the other episodes and don’t know how I’d get along with having to wait a week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2019 22:45

Fab episode / I thought meant kill George as option 2

Not the son

Guess she is pissed

Was the dead parents and dog in her memory. Assume not still in the house

Poor Benny

Hn is def a nutter

I noticed in the underground that the masked man didn’t actually slit his throat.

Rewound it lots. So hubby must have done it to stop him talking

Rather then done hisself

And yes recognised mum from EASTENDERS

longwayoff · 02/01/2019 22:45

Probably Hazle. I do wonder about the psyche of the authors of this kind of thing, sometimes I feel the writer shares more with his/her characters than I feel comfortable with. Still watching though so maybe I do too.

foofooyeah · 02/01/2019 22:49

I find it unbelievable they just let her in the house as thought she was a prostitute. They would have checked with the boss.

katiescarlett1939 · 02/01/2019 23:01

Ok so at what point did Luther and Alice get it on? I thought he was fantasising about what might happen if he left the police, but then she had a similar flashback/imagining. So did this actually happen?! Confused...

TarquinGyrfalcon · 02/01/2019 23:06

@katiescarlett1939 At the end of series 3 Alice and Luther left together to start a new life.
At the start of series 4 he is alone and she is missing/dead. So they were together in the period between S3 and 4

Awrite · 02/01/2019 23:14

Reckon the brain MRI that HN's husband was looking at was his own. And yes, something terminal.

I vaguely remember that cottage from a previous series. Had Luther been chucked out the force and contemplated a life with Alice but thought better of it?

If so, my recollection is in line with her's, whereas he said tonight that he hadn't left.

katiescarlett1939 · 02/01/2019 23:14

Oh yeah @TarquinGyrfalcon, I'd forgotten (nothing new there Blush). Thanks.

Rowenaravenclawsdiadem · 02/01/2019 23:21

PP Where did you get the Luther coat from off subject

Mner2019 · 02/01/2019 23:34

Awrite I think Alice was saying that Luther had left her first ie he was itching to go back to the police before she left with the diamonds.

I would have preferred them not to have shagged. It feels weird to me that they have.

Please don’t kill benny! Sad

nowifi · 02/01/2019 23:44

Awrite I like your thinking about the MRI being the husbands own!

ColdCrumpetsandButter · 02/01/2019 23:45

Who is Benny? The policeman taken hostage?

BradleyPooper · 03/01/2019 03:57

OMG just seen episode 2, I feel like I've just run a marathon, I'm exhausted from all the adrenaline! Only distraction is Hermione Norris' cheek fillers (so wish she hadn't done that...)

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2019 07:08

Yes, Crumpets, that's Benny.

I'm thinking that a great deal of the trailer, with Luther on the floor etc is about the George / Alice storyline and not the killer. Obviously the bit about her getting them all killed is, from Luther's boss.

Halliday is almost running the killer case on her own, Luther is so distracted with the Alice situation. I can't see this ending well.

OrgyofSausages · 03/01/2019 07:59

I think it was a mistake to reimagine the past with Alice and Luther having got it together - their relationship was never like that. I feel like she is playing her character a bit differently Sad.

yes the bit where she simply donned a big wig in order to gain access to George mark 2 was silly, but there have always been incredulous plots in this show. The husband is genuinely scary, that scene where he ranted on to his poor female patient and called her a whore was really shocking. I'd have been out of there like a shot....Shock.

I'm getting to like Halliday a bit more now, but I am worried that Schenk is going to betray John. And what of poor suffering hairy nerd Benny? bring back Justin. There's a man who would have died for his gaffer and isn't Warren Brown sooo hot.

Saucery · 03/01/2019 08:04

Patrick Malahide is wearing well, isn’t he? Doesn’t look much different from when he was in The Sweeney.
Benny will forever be ‘Tyres’ to me 😄

I’m enjoying this series, will probably go back and watch the first ones when I can.
BIt too much Alice, I think? But then I don’t know the pace and tone of the previous series so maybe it’s always had that mix.

kirkandpetal · 03/01/2019 08:10

dh and I had a laugh when Hermione said to her husband "are you out tonight" as if he was going to the pub, not out to torture and murder someone.

DH is self employed so is often out networking or with clients, especially in the build up to Xmas, so I was always saying "are you out tonight?"

Hope he was just down the pub!!

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2019 08:13

Tha patient scene wasn't a 'rant', it was typical surgeon / consultant explanation of procedure with the 'diseased whore' and 'then I'll kill you' inserted into it, but done in such a way that she wasn't sure she'd heard it. Definitely not ranting though.

Saucery · 03/01/2019 08:15

I was expecting a dark joke about bringing home a takeaway but maybe the scriptwriters aren’t that twisted. Although they are certainly aiming high!

Saucery · 03/01/2019 08:17

Yy, I barely registered the ‘diseased whore’ and wasn’t entirely sure I had heard it right, as indeed the patient didn’t seem sure.

OrgyofSausages · 03/01/2019 08:29

There was nothing typical about it NoWord - in that situation the consultant explains clearly and invites the patient to ask questions. They do not sit creepily close to them on the bed, fire off a speech at 100mph then walk out. At least that is not my experience in the 3 times I have been operated on, thankfully.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2019 08:34

Not every consultant has a good bedside manner! I can see consultants being like that, as some do feel rather god-like.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2019 08:34

And regardless, it wasn't a 'rant' at all.

Carbsnomarbs · 03/01/2019 09:48

Marking place

I missed the comments about the husband not having time left etc but the brain scan on his desk would make sense if so
