A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the Kdrama-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, but the more seriously addicted have other sources, including dramabus. I am taking things east Asian tomorrow too before we start caning the traditional fare on Christmas day. I even have a big squidgy pouch of spicy kimchi from the Korean store as an accompaniment. I am anticipating that the newbies will be horrified, but its worth a try. 😆 No soju though (boo!) unless I can squeeze another trip out before they arrive.

Ooh snap! I have a pot of kimchi too. I don’t have any sticky rice though and am wondering if risotto rice will do the trick...

I can’t help you there. I bought a big bag of sushi rice recently, so we are sorted. And some gyoza-style dumplings. Damn! How could I have neglected the soju?!?

I have dumpling envy now...curses may have to try & source more goodies 🥡🥢

We should probably draw a line under this conversation, Betty, before we lapse into complete menu envy.

Reporting in to say I’ll either go dark on this thread for the next few days or be fraticalky posting for a vicarious hit. If everyone else goes to bed at a sensible time, I may manage an episode or teo each night but no bingeing. 😩

I have watched 3 episodes of When Time Stopped and it is shaping up a treat, and (thus far) not a chaebol heir in sight. 🎉

3am last night! 😭😭😭... upto ep 12!... I just want to get to the end!!.... It was soooo deliciously fun though! I love it!

Resistance is futile 😂 I will be dipping in & out. Traditional Christmas Eve shopping to be done today & Mary Poppins this afternoon (the original ‘cos we all love it) but I’m sure I’ll sneak in the new eps of My Strange Hero at some point.

I haven’t seen one new thing on tv that I want to watch 🤨even though I have read through the Christmas edition of Radio Times. Maybe Luther in the New Year.

It’s about getting essential prep done so I can stay up late watching kdrama after everyone’s gone to bed tonight. I’ve already made desserts, the spiced red cabbage and DS2 (bribed with BTS playlist on Spotify) has topped and tailed 2 bags of sprouts and peeled/chopped 2 bags of carrots. Need to iron an outfit, clean the bathroom and get showered/dressed before guests arrive for lunch. 😩 Kdrama binge is a distant dream.

The ML in When Time Stopped is currently inscrutable and monosyllabic (in a mysterious/good way). I am sure he starts smiling he’ll be gorgeous. He’s rather lovely. I’m interested to see how its going to shake down, because the plotline that I thought would be dragged out for ages was all wrapped up in ep 3. 👍

I’m on ep 2 of When Time Stopped & though the lead was a bit wooden but happy to put it down as inscrutable 😆 Wasn’t expecting Reapers so am happy with that development ( like the lead reaper more than ML) at the moment

I’m liking the gentle pace of this one.

I am the worse for soju (DH ran an errand). Hoping I can stay with it/awake for long enough to see everyone off to bed.

Talked my SIL into watching the first episode of Goblin with me & she really liked it (as did I), so we’re going to watch another episode tomorrow after DH has gone to bed. 😆
