Interesting for Ruth Wilson to play her grandmother.

I’m hoping it’s good but we’ll see.

Agree about the ambulance!

Why the heck has her husband got a beard ,didn't think this was allowed in the British Army then . It seems anachronistic as all the other period details seem to be spot on .

Delatron · 27/11/2018 21:25

Yes, good to see her back with Dominic West.
Then this lady from Killing Eve (can’t remember her name!)

KnockMeDown · 27/11/2018 21:25

I thought the exact same about the ambulance.
Was watching but had to take a call, so will catch up on iPlayer.

Elderflower14 · 27/11/2018 21:35

Is DW in it? Thought Iain Glenn was her husband?

Delatron · 27/11/2018 21:37

Oh maybe my eyes are deceiving me! I though it was him with ageing make up on!

drspouse · 27/11/2018 21:51

So did the first Mrs Wilson and he have the first decree but not the second? Or no divorce at all?

Flightywoman · 27/11/2018 21:58

No divorce at all. It's looking like he has a lot of wives...

Enjoyed that. Nice to watch something that flows nicely.

Greenteandchives · 27/11/2018 22:00

Looks like Dorothy is the third wife.

MummaMinnie · 27/11/2018 22:00

@Delatron it's Fiona Shaw who was also in Killing Eve.

Who's Dorothy?? I missed some of it as I was on the phone. Guess I'll have to watch it again.

MummaMinnie · 27/11/2018 22:00

Yes, must be a third wife

Norugratsatall · 27/11/2018 22:01

Am I missing something?! Why didn't Ruth Wilson's sons think it odd that another man giving the eulogy at the funeral service called their father 'dad'? They didn't bat an eyelid!

Bluntness100 · 27/11/2018 22:02

That was good.

Yes looks like another wife,,,

Herculesfan · 27/11/2018 22:02

Irrationally annoyed that the cemetery on a hill was clearly not in flat as anything Southsea.

RandomMess · 27/11/2018 22:02

All I had running through my head at then was "Alice, Alice who the f*ck is Alice"

How many more wives/lovers are going to turn up...

Notonthestairs · 27/11/2018 22:03

Really enjoyed that. Fascinating story. Loved the setting and period details. I'm sure so many things were fudged during and post war, records lost etc. And Ruth Wilson is a phenomenal actress.

SmallDalek · 27/11/2018 22:03

Wow that was really well done if rather confusing. Looking forward to the next part.

Delatron · 27/11/2018 22:04

Thanks @MummaMimnie.
Loads of wives!

I never understand how men get away with this and the wives don’t clock. I guess they say they are working away lots but still. What happens at Christmas? Valentine’s Day?

Who could be bothered with all the lies!!

Notonthestairs · 27/11/2018 22:04

Nor I thought the son gave the eulogy at the mass?

KnockMeDown · 27/11/2018 22:05

How soon will it be available on iPlayer?
