I hate the Beth-Chesney-Kirk storyline! Do the writers not run their ideas past a focus group of some kind?

It is completely out of character for Kirk and Chesney to get involved in something like that. It wasn’t that long ago that Chesney had PTS and now he’s happy to go along with something like this?!

It would be a bit more topical for them to set up a Go Fund Me page or Social Media campaign or something. Anyway the kind of treatment would cost way more than a day’s takings from the kebab and chip shop.

I know, it’s a stupid storyline. (Aren’t they all!). What is the point of it? To get Liz out of going to the holiday?

A mugging planned, excited, discovered and money returned all in one hour. No build up, no tension, no time to get invested in the story. Blink and you miss it. In olden day’s Corrie that would have taken two weeks to cover.

What happened to the money Vinnies mum gave to Daniel and Sinead? They were going to set up a vintage shop. That would cover some treatment abroad.

Good point, PizzaPlanet - surely that money could be used? It's a sad storyline, badly done. The worst of both worlds.

I think Daniel and Sinead bought the lease on the shop from the council and then when they found out Sinead was pregnant and that it would be better for her to sit all day in a noisy factory rather than running her own shop with Daniel (because you can't set up a small business when pregnant, can you? ). Then they found that the council wouldn't take back the lease and Cathy and Brian after battling with Sinead to get the lease no longer wanted to run their proposed hardware shop. Then the story was dropped, so presumably the shop is empty and Vinnie's purloined money has gone to waste. Perhaps Daniel has some left to pay for his Masters.

All the comments above are right. Stories done and dusted in the blink of an eye, stories dropped, no investment and no emotional involvement for the viewer. Nothing is properly rounded out. For instance, Maria's going it alone without Audrey. Maria wanted to be a partner , to have a stake in the salon and to change things, but its still the same and they are still using the desk diary for bookings (not the computer), no exploration of David's feelings about Maria's "partnership", as he has been lead to believe for several years that the salon would be his which kept him there rather than in town. How did Maria find money to invest? What happened to Rita's money, is she not a pee'd off with Maria for causing her to lose it? Just an example but no rounding out.

It also means they have to rehash stories (prison ad nauseum, cancer etc) as they use up storylines so quickly.

I think Rita went in on the partnership with Audrey. She was fronting the money for maria. I remember her making a joke about being a not so silent partner.

Now that Michelle has a fringe she looks very much like Sophie.

I think sineads bump looks so big, is because one of the symptoms of cervical cancer is bloating..
Had hoped that with such a big storyline about it they would at least let the viewers know about the symptoms.
All they said at the beginning was she was bleeding. Which is a symptom.

Mike admitted bullying Steve at school so why Liz thinks he's a nice bloke is beyond me. Doesn't she care about her second born?
