Not Craig - it was Len - the bollywood-salsa that Karen hadn't even choreoed and they got flack even though iirc it was movie week.
Len said not enough salsa content and Will said how many counts there were or sthg...Len flipped his lid and said turn up, keep up and shut up.
I was Angry as it was so rude.

Have just checked, Will said there were 24 bars of recognisable salsa whatever that means and Len said the above. Allegedly he was going to say turn up, keep up and never give up but that's a crock as Will was more than keeping up, had not yet expressed anxiety and hadn't missed a week.
And like that he was gone....not mentioned again, not in final show and has never been back even with the Strictly Ballroom musical he was in. Don't blame him either although I did feel for Karen and wondered how she would have fared with Danny

OzzyMadBat · 13/11/2018 13:57

But that's just it - he called out Len in the same way he had called out Simon but Len couldn't take it.
The press reported the ding-dong, Will was meant to be training for VW I think, Karen wanted not unfairly to give it all they had whereas he was knackered depressed and in duvet mode.

OzzyMadBat · 13/11/2018 13:59

I was gutted.

OzzyMadBat · 13/11/2018 14:04

Damn. Will Young wormhole.
I am now leaving my keyboard and off to dance with my mop x

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/11/2018 14:15

I remember that now, Ozzy. Len never would put up with backchat. Brendan and James Jordan caught the rough edge of his tongue on more than one occasion.

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2018 14:16

In a parallel universe Danny could well of won, last year's Joe won, he wasn't special at all. Danny's a better dancer IMO.

That's the weirdness of SCD it annoys me some of the time but I still watch it.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 13/11/2018 14:22

Apart from Jared. I was his only fan

Oh my good. I completely forgot he ever existed! Did he dance with Tiny Tina?

DarlingNikita · 13/11/2018 14:26

I'd forgotten that barney with Len. It was a great dance and it seemed unfair to criticise the choreography when it was a theme week.

It says something about Will that he hasn't (as far as I know, anyway) publicly discussed/slated Len about it.

shumway · 13/11/2018 14:30

Ashley and Pasha Jive to 'Shake Ya Tail Feather' from The Blues Brothers
Charles and Karen Samba to 'La Bamba' by Connie Francis
Faye and Giovanni Paso Doble to 'Unstoppable' by E. S. Posthumus
Graeme and Oti Couples’ Choice (Theatre and Jazz) to 'The Trolley Song' from Meet Me in St. Louis
Joe and Dianne Quickstep to 'Dancin’ Fool' from Copacabana
Kate and Aljaz American Smooth to 'Everlasting Love' by Love Affair
Lauren and AJ Argentine Tango to 'River' by Bishop Briggs
Stacey and Kevin Salsa to 'Ooh Ahh (Just A Little Bit)' by Gina G

I'd totally forgotten that! Yes - Len WAS rude.

I'd love to hear his comments on some of the offerings these days though.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/11/2018 14:50

Maybe it's like arguing with the ref, though - you just bite your tongue and accept that like it or not, right or not, they've got the authority.

Inkanta · 13/11/2018 14:55

Oh dear Lauren could be in trouble. Argentine Tango to 'River' by Bishop Briggs - a high pitched squeaky, shouty song. Good luck Strictly singers - keeep practising Smile

CassandraCross · 13/11/2018 15:00

Maybe if DJJ hadn't chosen to give an interview to one of those 'rag' newspapers a few weeks into the Show dismissing/discrediting the other contestants he wouldn't have become a focus of attention for those self same 'rag' newspapers.

I cannot understand what possessed DJJ to do that kind of interview with that particular paper at that particular time.

umbrellaellaella · 13/11/2018 15:04

Charles could be in trouble with the samba.

My prediction: Charles vs Kate in the dance off, with Charles going.

CassandraCross · 13/11/2018 15:24

I don't think DJJ should have lost out to Graeme this week, I hated Graeme's dance it was awful - dad dancing on speed. However, I was starting to find DJJ's dances a bit one dimensional, there was always something pointy about the way he moved. I was really looking forward to some of his routines and ended up disappointed, I thought his Greatest Showman Paso would be brilliant but it just fell flat for me. Also, he didn't seem to me to be enjoying being on the Show, his attitude immediately after completing the dance, in the Cauditorium, on ITT and in training footage/VTs came across as him being a bit fed up and bored with it all.

Hmm, not sure about Graeme and Lauren's dances this week.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/11/2018 15:25

Hope you're wrong umbrella.

I think Charles has got more mileage in him as a dancer than Kate has.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/11/2018 15:26

he didn't seem to me to be enjoying being on the Show,

That'swhat I thought Cassandra

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/11/2018 15:36

I have no desire to see Kevin dance to Gina G. I'm already imagining the gurning/mouthing.

An AJ Argentine Tango? I didn't think he'd done one before but then I remembered this:

I don't like the song him and Lauren have been allocated. I can picture the result being awkward and simtaneously dull.

I love the Trolley Song Grin
As long as it doesn't feature treadmills or neon lycra I reckon they'll be okay.

Lol at Jared Murillo's only fan! Do we have any Brian Fortuna or Trent Whiddon fans out there??

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/11/2018 15:44

*simultaneously!

I really like the song choices this week bar Lauren's and Stacey's! Just why?!

Okay Ashley's is pretty unoriginal (great jive track though and who doesn't love a Pasha jive); Kate's is cheesy and the less said about Stacey's the better. But in the main the songs actually suit the dances.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 13/11/2018 16:17

Do we have any Brian Fortuna or Trent Whiddon fans out there??

I was a huge fan of Count Fortuna. Something so compellingly creepy about him 😄

TrashPanda · 13/11/2018 16:22

Trent Whiddon was there a couple of weeks ago helping to choreograph a group dance, maybe the baseball one? I liked Tristan Grin

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/11/2018 16:31

Danny did have a very jerky torso, I had thought it was a thing that he did for the character of the Cat on Red Dwarf but it seemed to be part of the way he moved all the time. It definitely had a negative impact on all of his dances, either because the jerkiness was present or because he was so concentrating on not jerking that other bits of technique suffered.

If we are thinking back fondly, I miss Matthew Cutler, so elegant in ballroom and yet so quick and flexible in latin. Not the most dynamic person when speaking to be fair, but divine to watch. I also miss Aliona's choreography.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/11/2018 16:36

Out of interest, why does nobody mind that DJJ has performed extensively as a professional dancer, (it’s all over his Wikipedia entry if you want to check) yet Faye and Ashley are apparently ringahs?

Sorry ppeatfruit I don’t agree that there is any universe in which DJJ would have won. He could have gone further perhaps but I didn’t see him as a finalist..

I’m sure he will be happy to take his money and disappear now.

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2018 16:38

Yes Schaden I don't think Len would be very impressed with all the "faffin' abaht" Grin

I just remembered the tribute to Aretha Franklin the pros. did Shock bad and even the choir sounded off.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/11/2018 16:38

Matthew Cutler! I did love his cha cha with wotsername.
