You know those Kylie rumours?

They're true!

Aitch · 02/07/2007 23:31

in the absence of Judy Garland...

SueBaroo · 03/07/2007 09:29

She is so standing on a box for those publicity shots!

SueBaroo · 03/07/2007 09:29

Actually, on closer inspection, I think it's stairs..

UnquietDad · 03/07/2007 13:24

The media will have a headline field day with this! I predict:

WHO SHOULD BE SO LUCKY

ESPECIALLY FOR WHO

HAND ON YOUR HEARTS

and of course

KYLIE STEPS BACK IN TIME !

Rosa · 03/07/2007 14:55

Sorry to crash your thread am in Uk for a while and saw 5 mins of Sats episode of Dr Who it has been driving me mad but what else was the bloke in who met Martha when she came out of the sea tall chap dark hair who then got zapped ( eeek worried if there is another Dr Who speak for that) Cheers !

SueBaroo · 03/07/2007 15:04

I think he's from casualty from what I've heard. And a potential new companion by all account, too.

UnquietDad · 03/07/2007 15:06

Zapped is fine. We don't mind zapped!
His name is Tom Ellis and everything he has been in is here

KrustyTheClown · 03/07/2007 15:14

Ha! V good Unquietdad.

cor, dd loves Kylie. As if she could love Dr Who EVEN more than she does now.

We have sky+ at home and often wind the digiguide forward to record stuff in the upcoming week. Ds said (after the episode ended on Saturday), 'mum, wind it forward to Christmas so we can see it nowwwwww'. Poor boy. They've got a LONG time to wait!

KrustyTheClown · 03/07/2007 15:17

I've been tapping my feet to that Scissor Sister's song (used at the beginning of the episode) all day today!

Rosa · 03/07/2007 15:26

THANK YOU......I feel much better now !!!!!

SueBaroo · 03/07/2007 15:51

Ah, it was Eastenders, then, not casualty. I haven't seen either so I am a complete ignoramus.

I may have the bath-plug of Rassilon, but I know next to nothing about anything else on telly

oggsfrog · 04/07/2007 07:28

AAarrgh. Catherine Tate is the new companion.

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 07:41

Yes. Not entirely convinced of the wisdom of that move...

saltire · 04/07/2007 07:44

I'm not sure why they have chosen Catherine tate. Still if keeps her away from doing that bloody Lauren Bovvered person then that's a good thing.
Not convinced it's a good idea.
Why have they moved Martha to Torchwood?

sockmonkey · 04/07/2007 07:55

sobs :: stop changing companions::

SueBaroo · 04/07/2007 08:25

hmmm. Not sure what to say beyond that, really. hmm. I'd say I just hope RTD knows what he's doing, cos I thought The Runaway Bride was gubbins. But then I thought he cocked up the series 3 finale, so I can't be that confident.

Mossy · 04/07/2007 08:51

Oh crikey, Catherine Tate as the new companion. Donna really got up my nose in the Christmas episode I'm afraid. I know Martha wasn't as popular as Rose, but a bit more character development, and a bit less moping over the Doctor and she could have grown on me...

Hmm. Wait and see. I remember being a bit about the appointment of Billie Piper originally and how wrong I was!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 04/07/2007 08:56

I'm pretty sceptical about how successful Catherine Tate is going to be. She grates on me a little and in the Christmas special I kept thinking she was going to spout 'Am I bovvered?'.

Will reserve judgment for now.

UnquietDad · 04/07/2007 09:16

I was so hoping for Sally Sparrow...

sockmonkey · 04/07/2007 09:50

Aye Sally Sparrow was great. I loved that episode. But she is happily settled in her video shop. I guess we will have to hold our breath and see how CT works out.

serenity · 04/07/2007 10:46

I've been having a think about this whilst drinking my coffee, and reading some comments on a scifi forum. Initially my thoughts were 'oh bugger', but actually I think it's going to be fine. Ok she was a bit shouty and manic on TRB, but it was a shouty and manic episode. The end scene was pretty subtle and quite touching, and if her character stays like that, it'll be pretty good. Martha will be back half way through anyway, it's not like she's really 'gone' gone.

Aitch · 04/07/2007 12:21

CT is a good actor, i think, so am hopeful. thought the runaway bride was shoite though.

why did we all like sally sparrow so much, i wonder? because i really did too. the actor has a certain quiet confidence i think, not shrieky. and she smirks well. she was really good, wasn't she...?

SoupDragon · 04/07/2007 12:23

Catherine Tate??? Oh FFS... Someone explain why Martha has left, please??

ellceeell · 04/07/2007 12:34

I'm really disappointed that it is Catherine Tate. She always seems to play herself - and I didn't like her character at all in the Christmas special. I like the thought of Martha in Torchwood though!
