Hi everyone, the last thread was nearly full. Is Imran so short of work he can take on a case at 2 mins notice?

Yes Ginas date is the man that conned Sally! Good storyline.

eddiemairswife · 16/11/2018 20:28

In tonight's opening scene Leanne was in her dressing gown seeing Simon off to school, then ,literally, in the blink of an eye she was fully clothed coming out of the shop. It just seemed as if a scene had been missed.

Seb reminds me of a vampire with his new look

I am a lurker on this thread and all your observations are spot on and make me smile. As a child protection social worker for far too many years I am used to being portrayed as a humourless jobsworth in soaps. I only pop up with a clipboard to tell parents I have decided to remove children at the drop of a hat. However a week from hell and PMT has tipped me over. No suprise the public (and many allied professionals) have no idea how things actually take place and what we actually do. Boring as it is (and ignoring all the massive amount of work to keep families together safely) there is such a thing as the Children's Act and courts ultimatley make decisions to remove children and approve who they live with and how future contact looks. No mention of the actual court process and parent's rights to be supported, offered help to change or that extended family are always considered first if assessed as safe. Just one incident amd huge decisions are made about childrens futures. Sorry all, I need to rant and on reflection maybe I should get a job in soap world as it is all so simple!

So Ali and Ryan are both officially Michelle's sons? What about the Neesons? Do they no longer exist??

Don't worry, we all know that Corrie is about as realistic and based in fact as the average Disney movie.

Also..

You guys do amazing work and should be far more appreciated than you are. Flowers

KlutzyDraconequus · 16/11/2018 21:42

According to the Corrie wiki he was in the navy from 1980 till 2000

PayingGuests · 16/11/2018 21:50

I dont like this sinead storyline at all.

thenightsky · 16/11/2018 21:54

Oh God yes re the Sinead woo anti science thing.

willstarttomorrow · 16/11/2018 21:58

Thank you. Child at scout camp so wine is open! Social work is so ignored on television compared to nursing etc yet is full of amazing outcomes and (often dark) humour we all get a bit pissed off. For context I started out as a nurse and was considered an angel which is very far removed from the truth! TBH I think if the things we encounter day to day as a team were portrayed in a drama the script writers would be accused of sensationalism! Nothing suprises me any more (except on reflection it probably will) Working with people at their most vulnerable and gaining their trust is actually pretty amazing.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 16/11/2018 22:35

I think that Guy who has put Sally in Prison will turn Gina against Sally and it will be Gina up in court as a character witness for him, Gina feels vulnerable, falling for Tim and Sally wanting her out of the house, I think she will believe all the lies he tells her, Gina will turn against Sally I’m convinced.

xJessica · 16/11/2018 23:33

eddiemairswife Abi was in her dressing gown talking to Seb in the opening scene right before leanne came out of the shop with Simon waiting outside.... Or did I miss something else?

Deadringer · 17/11/2018 01:07

Where is Oliver, that's what I want to know.

NoLogicInThis · 17/11/2018 01:59

I too really dislike the sinead storyline with her new 'friend'
Why oh why will Corrie have Sinead listening to a woman she has just met going against any advice from her friends and family, Daniel and medical professionals and instead give up chemo and start a new diet just because her friend did?
Its a really irresponsible storyline and you can see what's going to happen a mile off.
The new friend will cause a wedge between her and Daniel as she listens to her new friend more and more.
I know Sinead isn't the brightest but I'm so annoyed that her character constantly hides things from her family and real friends and will literally do what this stranger says in minutes of knowing her.

Redglitter · 17/11/2018 03:23

I agree with you NoLogic it seems very irresponsible to have her skipping chemo this early and turning to vegan diets etc

I wonder what Cancer Charities make of it

Clionba · 17/11/2018 05:54

Ah yes, Oliver. Where is he? Perhaps he's with Harry? Maybe both of them are hanging out with Jake?

Scotschic · 17/11/2018 06:32

I loathe cancer storylines.

Clawdy · 17/11/2018 08:45

I wonder if the Sinead story will have a horrible ending where she dies as a result of not undergoing chemo.Really hope not, that will be depressing beyond words even for Coronation Street. Then yet another storyline of a single parent bringing up a baby alone. Doesn't virtually every child on the street only have one parent?Joseph, Jack, Liam.....sure there are more.

tinstar · 17/11/2018 08:51

Presumably Daniel will find out and talk some sense into her. Or friend will die and she'll realise the error of her ways. Agree it's an awful storyline. But another one for the writers to tick off their list of topics to cover.

I was thinking the other day about Norris. I know the actor was ill but has he left the show permanently or is he off visiting Emily or someone?

Thesearmsofmine · 17/11/2018 08:59

I agree about the Sinead storyline, i wish they hadn’t introduced this woman into the mix.

Thesearmsofmine · 17/11/2018 09:00

Also I am sure with Daniel was called away he would have called Beth or someone else to go with Sinead to chemo.

Optimist1 · 17/11/2018 09:15

So the call to Daniel about Oldwomanwhosenamei'veforgotten was a hoax? Did Sinead's new friend do that? How did she get Daniel's number? (Very unsatisfactory plot and a grim storyline IMHO)
