Hi everyone, the last thread was nearly full. Is Imran so short of work he can take on a case at 2 mins notice?

Ha ha GrinGrin!!
Instead we get pasty factory workers in drab coats....

OP posts:
IStandWithPosie · 07/11/2018 19:47

Kate's been cuprinoled

Grin I came on to ask what the hell had happened to her!

IStandWithPosie · 07/11/2018 19:49

Moira!!! They’re getting quicker at responding to our requests! Grin

Clionba · 07/11/2018 19:51

Yesssss! Moira! Who else do we want??

OP posts:
KlutzyDraconequus · 07/11/2018 19:51

Why is it only requests for people to appear? Can't they also listen to who we want rid of?

(Mind you, 90% of the cast would vanish..)

AutumnCrow · 07/11/2018 20:03

I intone three times - Billy Wicker the Crap Vicar

clowdyweewee · 07/11/2018 20:47

Can we wish for Imran to appear without his shirt on?

Or emerging from the shower, with a small towel slung loosely around his hips.

Clionba · 07/11/2018 20:49

cloudyweewee now THAT would certainly improve the dull/preposterous storylines...

Clionba · 07/11/2018 20:51

I'm not sure what's going on with Sawphay at Speed Daal?? Is that the rudest person she's ever met? Has she never had to deal with awkward customers?

OP posts:
clowdyweewee · 07/11/2018 21:54

I hope tonight's episodes are worth catching up with. I decided to watch GPs Behind Closed Doors instead. Much better plot lines.

flintfoxy · 07/11/2018 21:58

Adam is HOT they need a storyline which utilises that.

Clawdy · 07/11/2018 22:36

So.....are we guessing Imran is going to be dad to Kate's baby? All those shots of the three of them together? Like the Mary Portas scenario. Her partner had a baby using sperm donated by Mary's brother.

Honeyroar · 07/11/2018 22:48

No episodes are worth watching on catch up, just get the gist from here. Tonight's particularly weren't!

thenightsky · 07/11/2018 23:25

I rather got the impression that Kate wants Rana to be the pregnant one.

KlutzyDraconequus · 07/11/2018 23:40

I'm.getting the fling that an Adam and an Imran storyline where they take up competitive swimming may be a popular one... Lol

HouseOfMouse · 07/11/2018 23:50

I’ve been a Corrie watcher since my teens (am now 53!) so have persevered with it for a while now hoping things would improve, and there are still certain characters that I like, but it’s dawned me over the last few months that I just don’t enjoy it any more. At all. It used to be so good. Maybe this is all part of becoming an old fart, but I really do think I’m done with it. Is it just me?

borderline11 · 08/11/2018 00:27

@Houseofmouse i totally agree. I think i mostly watch out of habit, and also in the hope that it might get better. It used to be unmissable, but now i can take it or leave it. Unlikeable characters, stupid storylines, too much emphasis on the young ones love lives..........and the inability to let any couple stay together and just be happy. If they split Sally and Tim up, which I suspect they are, i might just give it up altogether.

tinstar · 08/11/2018 05:09

House - late 50s here and have also been watching all my life. I used to watch with my mum so I think that's the reason I still do.

But lately I've started watching episodes in batches on my iPad so I can skip some of the more annoying bits. I can get through an episode in 5 minutes these days!

I can't bear:
the Carla/Leanne/Nick/Peter merry-go-round
Fizz (her voice and facial expressions)
Sophie (as above)
Michelle (as above)
Dev (as above)
Kate (as above)
Rana (as above)
Gail (as above)

The only characters I really like are:
Tim
Jenny
Beth
Bethany

The storylines are often ludicrous, made worse by the desire to cover every topical issue going. Not enough of the low level drama and humour of every day life any more.

clowdyweewee · 08/11/2018 05:17

I'm in my 50s and remember watching Corrie with my mom asaid a young child in the Ena Sharples/ Annie Walker era. I watch it out of habit now although my mom who's 86 and had watched from episode 1, gave up on it when Phelan blackmailed Anna into having sex. She said it just wasn't worth watching anymore.

KlutzyDraconequus · 08/11/2018 07:23

I've also watched for a long time and it is more habit now. It's part of a routine, school run, tea, cuppa, baths, Corrie with a cuppa and bed time for little one (nowadays then second Corrie)

Pretty much agree with Tins list.
But I'd put Roy, Mary, Shona and Gina in the 'Like' column.

Can't stand Steve, David, Chesney or Sean.

Clionba · 08/11/2018 07:47

Also a long time watcher, also in my 50s, watching put of habit, to wind down after a tough day. I agree with the points pp have made. A bit of absurdity is fine, or something far fetched, but the characters have got to be engaging and the scripts good. Sawphay is so annoying and I've no idea why an attractive intelligent solicitor would be with her. Kate is terrible. No more Michelle bawling with straightened hair. Please.

HouseOfMouse · 08/11/2018 18:17

I would much prefer some decent character development and good dialogue, which the shoe used to have in abundance. Now it’s all constant catastrophic illnesses and other traumas which are immediately forgotten about, and over emphasis on weak storylines and terrible characters. Michelle for example is unbearable and yet they always have her front and centre. I know I’m probably hopelessly old fashioned but it’s a shame it has moved so far from its strengths.

HouseOfMouse · 08/11/2018 18:18

The show! (Not the shoe - that would be daft).

Honeyroar · 08/11/2018 19:28

I've been watching since I was little, my mum used to watch it. I'm late 40s. Mum doesn't watch it anymore. I've never really been addicted, I've always dipped in and out - I've spent a few years abroad and travel abroad a lot for work still. I can't be bothered sitting catching up - usually you can skip bits and catch up (or I ask you guys!). I had many years where I didn't watch it - Hayley dying brought me back.

I'd like to see Kate, Rana, Michelle, Johnny, Imran (sorry!) and Dev binned.. Possibly Sinead and Daniel too, and Ken!. I can put up with Sawfie, Fizz, Chesney, and at a push Sean.

clowdyweewee · 08/11/2018 19:36

They'll never get rid of Ken despite him being seriously crap.
