I so need a thread where I can talk about this drama and what happened. It was so good. I think the drama and the actors deserve an award.

Was so good!! I’m happy to discuss it.

Chuggachuggatoottoot · 24/09/2018 17:34

I've watched the whole series and I'm eager for more but guess it's going to be a long wait.

chequeplease · 24/09/2018 17:35

I loved it!!!

Chuggachuggatoottoot · 24/09/2018 17:35

I did find it a bit confusing towards the end

mycatplotsdeath · 24/09/2018 17:42

It was fabulous

Chuggachuggatoottoot · 24/09/2018 17:58

The old lady neighbour of Villanelle, wonder if she's involved somehow?Bit weird how Villanelle just disappeared like that at the end in that state.

I enjoyed it, it was brilliantly acted and really well written.

SoleBizzz · 25/09/2018 18:49

I watched it. I liked it but found the actors an odd mix

chequeplease · 25/09/2018 18:51

Villanelle had to disappear at the end.

Ready for season 2 Grin

myrtleWilson · 25/09/2018 18:53

I so want to hang out with Jodie and Sandra... Grin

DolorestheNewt · 25/09/2018 19:01

It was indeed brilliant, but like all these series I thought it went a bit off at the end and I thought the end of the final ep was just a cynical, lazy set-up for season 2.

I couldn't work out if David Haig, of whom I'm a massive fan, was cast specifically because he seemed an unlikely character for that type of work, thus foreshadowing his exit. (Though I realise that he and Eve were supposed to be backroom nerds, so he wasn't really supposed to be a field agent anyway.)

Some of the peripheral casting is great. Fiona Shaw's son and the female assistant he's got a crush on (can't remember her name, I think his is Kenny) are really good. Fiona Shaw herself is always good. Nico is good.

legolammb · 25/09/2018 19:08

I absolutely loved it! Couldn't help myself and watched it all in about 3 days. Fiona Shaw's character was great.

I agree that Villanelle seemed to disappear far too quickly at the end - I wonder if there's more to it

SoleBizzz · 25/09/2018 19:11

When is season 2 coming out?

Fantastiqueangel · 25/09/2018 20:04

I thought this was brilliant. Jodie Comer was outstanding. Her facial expressions were just fantastic.

glintandglide · 25/09/2018 20:06

Her accents and language was just fantastic! I loved all of it

EvePolastri · 25/09/2018 20:08

I loved it too!!

ISendNoComplimentsToYourMother · 26/09/2018 07:22

Loved it!! But I thought the ending with them both on the bed was a tad unrealistic Grin

Set up too much for series 2. Gutted that Konstantin died at the end as I loved his character. Thought he or Vladimir were going to end up being Kenny’s dad.

Anyone read the books? Are they similar in character?

DolorestheNewt · 26/09/2018 10:42

ISendNoCompliments I wasn't actually sure that Konstantin did die, I didn't think it was very clear (though admittedly I had got quite bored by that point so wasn't necessarily watching as closely as I had been in the earlier episodes). Is he definitely dead?

glintandglide · 26/09/2018 10:44

Fiona shaw took a call at the airport to say he was dead but WHO KNOwS. I reckons she’s involved in the 12.

At the end when eve went all assain I thought it was a double twist as she was the bad guy Grin wrong about that though

DolorestheNewt · 26/09/2018 10:46

Ah, thanks, Glint. I'll take it at face value, then, and assume he is.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 26/09/2018 10:58

Thought he or Vladimir were going to end up being Kenny’s dad. Me too. I was also sad if/when he died. Also thought Konstantin's daughter was hilarious.

Normally at the end of a BBC drama series these days (as I mentioned on a thread re Bodyguard), I'm a bit meh and not interested in another series, but with this one DH turned to each other and both went "oooooooooh!".

Cannot wait for series 2 and this has been one of my favourite programmes ever.

Take a bow Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 26/09/2018 11:03

Loved it, too good not to binge watch. I reckon Fiona Shaw's character is up to her sticky neck in it.

CookPassBabtridge · 26/09/2018 13:27

Loved it. I really liked Bill though and was gutted he died. Yeah her running off at the end with a stab wound to the stomach is unrealistic, Eve could easily catch her up! Bet the neighbour has hidden her in her flat.

butterfly56 · 27/09/2018 00:09

Watched the whole first series on Iplayer in 2 days!
Loved everything about it and just knew it was going to be good as Sandra Oh was in it!
Comer was an absolutely brilliant total psycho!!
Cannot wait for season 2 but will watch season 1 again later in the year as I will have forgotten half of what went on! Grin

wafflyversatile · 27/09/2018 01:20

But what happened to your room?!!
What do you mean? $steps over mahem$

Excellent. Sad to see konstantin is probably dead.

In one way I wish they had concluded the story at one series. It's going to be too silly now.
