I so need a thread where I can talk about this drama and what happened. It was so good. I think the drama and the actors deserve an award.

I absolutely loved it. I saw David Haig in the street shortly after seeing the Berlin episode and was emboldened to say to him what a relief it was to see him alive and well. Grin He got it straight away, fortunately, and said what a great series it was.

YuhBasic · 28/10/2018 10:27

I find David Haig oddly attractive 😊

He’s sort of twinkly 💖

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 28/10/2018 12:28

He looks exactly the same in the flesh, YuhBasic! Never seen him give a dud performance.

DarlingNikita · 28/10/2018 16:57

Thyme, no, although I do fancy reading them. I'll give them a go.

I love Sandra Oh in this! And I even like her husband. David Haig IS oddly attractive. I was devastated when he died in KE.

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 03:54

Just finished this, loved it, and how refreshing to have two female leads!

NKFell · 29/10/2018 17:43

I love it so much! I watched the whole series twice and I also want Eve and Villanelle to kiss Halloween Blush Halloween Grin

how refreshing to have two female leads!

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 19:14

@NKFell don't forget "I once saw a rat there drinking a can of Coke. Two hands. Extraordinary" 😂😂

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 19:14

Does anyone think David Haig looked younger in this than he did in Four Weddings, which was 25 years ago?

NKFell · 29/10/2018 22:27

Oh @GunpowderGelatine how on earth did I forget that?! Yes, David Haig has always looked in his 50s so now he’s in his 60s he looks good for it Grin

YuhBasic · 29/10/2018 22:47

I don’t know about younger but he’s far more attractive now.

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 22:57

He's definitely got better with ages!

I need to talk about 'Killing Eve' *Spoilers Alert*
HerculesTheBerkules · 29/10/2018 23:06

Yes David Haig is really attractive in this! I was kind of hoping he and Eve might get together. They have a bit of the old married couple vibe about them.

Poor Nadia had a bum deal really.

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 23:07

Did anyone else hate Sandra Oh's husband in this? He was awful, so unsupportive, she could do way better. He also looks like he smells

ComeOnGordon · 29/10/2018 23:11

Jodie C deserves an award for her acting in this - she somehow drew you into kind of liking an assassin.
I also loved the humour - where she says to ?Nadia “was it an Asian woman with amazing hair?” - was just such a funny strange comment at that moment.
Will be sad if Konstantin is dead - he was such an interesting character.
Really looking forward to season 2

HerculesTheBerkules · 29/10/2018 23:12

Also the Chinese ambassador who took Eve out for dinner, he was so funny! You rarely see proper parts for Asian characters, that aren't just stereotypes. Also Sandra Oh is the first Asian American actor to be nominated for an Emmy for her role in this.

YuhBasic · 29/10/2018 23:13

Oh yes Jodie was incredible. If she doesn’t pan award of some sort it’ll be a travesty.

YuhBasic · 29/10/2018 23:13

*get an

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 23:17

Yes and to ace the languages and accents was remarkable. There's something very wrong if she doesn't get awards coming out her ears. She made Villanelle strangely likeable. I loved it when she threw Konstantin a birthday party and did an impression of him. Brilliant!

GunpowderGelatine · 29/10/2018 23:18

And loved the casting of Konstantin's daughter. Once again refreshing to have a different type of character, not a blonde haired delicate cry baby in a pink dress.

LittleBookofCalm · 30/10/2018 10:22

Agree David Haigh has a Twinkle about him

Thymeout · 30/10/2018 10:34

Yes. I love the surprises and contradictions. Eve holding a gun on Konstantin, but has to cover her eyes while he does up his flies. And yet she has nerves of steel to lie on the bed and seduce V to lie down and get close enough to be stabbed. And V 's little remarks, about the shirt attached to sweater combo and the warm fruit cake. The one-upmanship with the awful child over who can speak the most languages.

People go on about plot-holes and 'that would never happen'. They're missing the point. It's not meant to be realistic. It's surreal, but with just enough reality - Bill's death, his baby at the funeral, to keep you grounded and scared and care about what happens next.

Biologifemini · 30/10/2018 10:37

I didn’t get it.
I really wanted to like it but it didn’t make much sense and seemed ridiculous.
I think sometimes I am just a bit slow though.

Thymeout · 30/10/2018 22:18

I do think it takes time to tune in. I started watching it in tandem with Bodyguard and it was quite an adjustment at first. Then it made B seem old-fashioned. It wasn't really till Bill was killed that I engaged with it.

NKFell · 31/10/2018 00:13

I watched the first episode then didn’t watch the second until 2 weeks later, then binged the whole series and rewatched immediately after so I’d say to stick with it!

LassWiADelicateAir · 05/11/2018 00:53

Just binge watched it. Loved it. Jodie Comer had a bit of a non part in Dr.Foster but she was amazing in this. As was everyone- brilliant casting.

I loved the humour, especially the dialogue with Carolyn and Kenny and Vilanelle and Konstantin's daughter but there were so many great lines ("dealt with")

David Haig was wonderful too. He only had 3 episodes and he started as a very non-
descript, ordinary, middle aged bloke and then blossomed as we found out what he had been up to in Berlin before. He looked positively dapper in Berlin with his hat.
