I went to a party last night so only saw half of it. However, I have caught up with the dances, so my verdict so far:

Loved DJJ's first dance. He will go far.

I was expecting more from Vick but I think her long limbs may have disadvantaged her in performing a fast jive. Agree with Craig's comments. She may be better suited to ballroom and I hope we get to see a decent dance from her.

Really like Faye from Steps and although her Cha Cha Cha was good, it felt too safe for me. The blue outfit really suits her.

I am definitely not part of the "older women who obsess over AJ" fan club, but his dance with Lauren was lovely, so kudos to those two.

Graeme isn't quite Mark Ramprakash, who also did a samba to the same tune with Kara Tointon for Sports Relief. Still, he had the right spirit and really seemed to enjoy himself.

Mozzie have PM’d you with the answers I got to the Monkseal quiz - not public so as not to spoil his thunder with the reveal. I also bet on Vic so am screwed.

I was out last night so missed it, have just caught up. I loved the opening! Karen Clifton looks SUPER fit and her body is incredible.

Ok in no particular order:
Vick - really disappointed in her. Her hands looked so beautiful that I thought she must be a natural and then she seemed to spend a lot of time standing around doing nothing in very picturesque poses but lacked any real dance. Poundland Gleb doesn’t quite seem up to the mark does he - usually they make the pro do a few seasons as a backing dancer, how did he jump in with a celeb so quickly? Hopefully she’ll improve quickly as she’s my early fav.

Faye - love her. Reckon her partner told her to make sure she straightens her leg on the forward step of the cha cha and as a result her legs were almost too straight throughout. But she’s fab.

Joe - who the fuck is he. YouTube ain’t a job. Would like him to leave pls.

Sean - too many handly and almost aggressive with Katya (who is fucking awesome as a choreographer and very gracious even with the shit ones). I really like him though as a comedian so would like to see him in but feel he might be a week 1 or 2 leaver.

Graham - onother voice for Oti the goddess. Quite impressed with him but reckon he’ll be out about week 6.

DJJ - fab, love him

Cheapo Idris - loves himself. Good but reckon the levels of smarm will overtake all focus on dancing until he disappears up his own arse entirely.

Lauren - surprisingly fluid for an athlete, difficult to warm to her extremely competitive nature.

Katie - ah god she’s so lovely. Hopefully she’ll calm down nerves wise after a few weeks but don’t think she’s in for long term

Susannah - disaster and could really do with sorting out her teeth. Anton was poor form to put her as a joke

Kate - weirdly sexy-unsexy and awful legs and feet. But better than the usual newsreader lot.

Lee - pls leave already

Dr - don’t care about him (not feeling the love sorry)

Stacey - please please fuck off away from me far far away. She’s so irritating. Her dance was quite lovely though and that makes it even more annoying.

Ashley - predictably fantastic and I think will get really irked with any negative comments

I miss Brendan.

Thought judges comments weren’t very focused on the actual dancing but weirdly quite personal (ie hair, lots of focus on the dances not being true dances etc).

I find the early weeks really quite dull until they get rid of the middle of the road ones. Should be like hunger games or something where we can block vote out the crap ones and just let the good ones stay.

Playing devil's advocate I did think Lee was quite brave in speaking up for Roxanne last month when the whole country well, reality tv viewers wanted to lynch her. It would have been easier to follow the party line but he didn't: “Not saying what [Roxanne] did was in anyway right at all… but nor is kicking the s**t out of someone who is troubled and clearly needs professional help.''

After further deliberation with myself I have decided to put my intense dislike for Anton to one side and I'm going to support Susannah, that whole dance from start to finish was a farce, she didn't stand a chance with the ridiculous props.

Think I'll bung a chicken in the oven and go watch the whole show again, that's dinner sorted so

I think that Susannah missed a trick by not specifying anyone-but-Anton before she signed the contract. I'm pretty sure that's what Debbie McGee did because age-wise she was prime Anton fodder.

Hello all! Was at a wedding last night (such inconsiderate planning) so I've just caught up on iPlayer.

My thoughts:

Sassy Kate Silverton was a pleasant surprise, her husband looked quite shell-shocked!

Loved Lauren and AJ, I hope she goes far.

Seann was better than I expected. I think some people will find him annoying but maybe some will vote for Katya more than him to see more of her choreography?

Vick got too grovelly with the judges, I think she's going to irritate me. Agree that the choreography was more about Graziano than her.

I love that Anton trains in a shirt and tie. Even for a samba. That routine wasn't fair on Susannah though and she (understandably) looked a bit upset.

Charles was good but loves himself too much.

Ashley was a bit over-expressive and wafty, but I like her personality more than I expected to.

Loved Dr Ranj, he seems lovely and was surprisingly good.

Katie's nerves will stop her from going far if she doesn't get them under control. I hate when they mess with the time signature of songs to make them fit a waltz!

Really liked Graeme. I always think Oti's boobs must pose a real challenge for wardrobe...

Lee - just urgh.

Stacey and Joe were both surprisingly good but a bit irritating (her voice, his pranks).

It's shaping up to be a good year! My favourites so far are Lauren, Dr Ranj and Graeme. It's nice to see so many non-ringahs starting strongly.

You missed out my favourite Humble, Danny. I did think he was quite skippy for a foxtrot though, he's going to need to butch up a bit before he does a paso or tango. But still I've loved him since he was Cat on Red Dwarf so he is my favourite this season. I really, really hope he doesn't turn out to be a pain in the neck, that would be very disappointing.

I thought Lee somehow managed to look as though he was groping the lovely Nadiya for the entire dance, even though his hands were only where they were supposed to be. But perhaps I am only projecting my own dislike of him and how much I would want to avoid being touched by him.
