Morning Glitterball
@x-squared hope it's okay to follow in your lovely footsteps and put out a second thread even with 13 days left to go. If there is another one up already and I am being blind, please link to it.

*Love it, so Charles is now officially Btech Idris, and Kevin (from Grimsby) is officially Gavin and Stacey.

Do we any other ‘official’ mn abbreviation for this year’s contingent?*

Btech Idris
Gavin and Stacey
MWMOB (most worse member of Blue) Lee Rayn (I still cannot believe he inflicted Rayn Ryan, sorry, Rayn Lee Amethyst Ryan on his son) maybe we should just call him Eel Fromblue yes Lee love we know it's an anagram
Pashley mk II (Kim and Pash being the original?)

Highlights from other fora include
Graemey Cricket
Not Trinny
Joetube

and Dr Ranj is quite liking his Miss Ranjie moniker according to his instagram Wink

As for the new pros my other half made various lube comments Hmm whereas Grazziano is Ross from Friends if he carries on with the oil.

Move over Shimmy Jimmy Jordan as Brenda states the obvious here but Kate S with Kev would have been a disaster height wise, c'mon Cole you had too much sangria.

Cool. That's my jive! It's slow enough for me maybe not to die halfway through. And I can wear sixties boots and jive sitting on a bench with Aljaz. I like the song but still hear wait a minute Mr Postman every time.
My fantasy self would jive to Body talks/the Struts or recycle Taytay's Shake it off. She is somewhat fitter than me.

DWTS used Portugal, the man! for a 'movie genre week'...the duffer below got spies. Bless him, he tried in the bits that were actual dancing

Yoo-hoo!

Sorry to be so late - have been away this week. DH has no respect for the huge amounts of TV I am committed to, and books things when I would rather be sitting on my fat lazy arse with a bag of doritos and a cuppa tea. He insists on having a "break" every now and then.

FuzzyCustard · 15/09/2018 12:38

How very dare he schady? Still, you are back now. Open up those Doritos and catch up!

ppeatfruit · 15/09/2018 14:20

Before tonight's best of show..

what is everyone's favourite routines from the previous years? Also the most iconic moments that stand out for you ? Smile

TheSassyAssassin · 15/09/2018 15:23

Well I never tire of seeing Jay and Aliona's jive Smile

AvengingGerbil · 15/09/2018 15:24

Harry and Aliona’s Viennese Waltz
Katie and Anton’s Rumba
Holly and Artem’s American Smooth

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/09/2018 15:26

Be glad that you're in the UK TheSassyAssassin the BBC have taken it down for other countries and I have to log into a VPN to see it. Just that jive as far as I can tell, I've been able to view every other Strictly dance.

TheSassyAssassin · 15/09/2018 15:27

Or Danny and Oti's samba...

TheSassyAssassin · 15/09/2018 15:29

How odd BlackAmericano! Confused Hope you can see the above link ok then!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/09/2018 15:36

I particularly love Jay and Aliona's tango, and their halloween one which I think was American Smooth.

I liked Louis Smith's Halloween dance, it was the week that he had a sudden massive improvement.

I loved Sophie Ellis-Bextor's charleston, I'm still miffed, years later, that she was out of the final before having the chance to do it again. She combined languid ennui with fast paced moves beautifully.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/09/2018 15:37

Yes, I can see all the dances except that one jive. I don't know why they did that, but there might have been some sort of limit to how many times the YouTube video could be viewed or perhaps there was some sort of rights issue with the song or the movie.

iklboo · 15/09/2018 15:55

I loved Danny & Oti's

TheSassyAssassin · 15/09/2018 15:56

How odd!

I love the Argentine Tango... and there have been some good ones down the line..Jay & Aliona, Kara & Artem, Louise & Kevin, Mark & Karen, Rachel & Vincent...

Excited for trip down memory lane this eve Smile

xsquared · 15/09/2018 16:25

Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy’s Argentine tango.

Danny and Oti’s samba.

Not from a couple, but the Romeo and Juliet Argentine tango group dance back in 2016 with Gorka and Oksana (I miss her), as the leads.

MozzieMagnet · 15/09/2018 19:04

My favourite pro routine:

OP posts:
areyoubeingserviced · 15/09/2018 19:10

Danny and Oti’s samba
Kristine and Simon’s AT
Sophie EB- Charleston
Ramps and Karen’s AT

Favourite group pro routine- last year’s Fashion and last weeks Havana routine

YearOfYouRemember · 15/09/2018 19:13

Bonus strictly programme on now.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/09/2018 19:14

My favourite pro routine wasn't even on Strictly, it was on Strictly at the Proms. I had quite a different view of Giovanni after seeing this (generally find him a bit annoying, but he's hot when he's grumpy).

FuzzyCustard · 15/09/2018 19:14

Hello all I'm here!
Got to have Ed Balls's Gangnam Style. (Was it a Charleston?)

FuzzyCustard · 15/09/2018 19:15

Oh and Russell Grant being fired out of a cannon. Should have just been fired in my opinion...

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 15/09/2018 19:21

Ooh enjoying all these memories on BBC!! Glebe Special(s) Grin

LittleBearPad · 15/09/2018 19:21

Wish they’d stop yattering and just show some dances

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 15/09/2018 19:21

*Gleb! (damn autocorrect)
