I was thinking Adam and Jenny. She's had such a shit time and deserves a fit young bloke. Either him or Imran.

Oh no not Toyah and Jude please. I quite like Toyah, Jude has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and he comes across as quite stupid too.

Clawdy · 16/08/2018 23:10

Mary is now an embarrassment, they've turned her into a half-witted caricature, one you might see in an old, unfunny comedy series.

Rebecca36 · 16/08/2018 23:37

I want Imran and Alya to get together! I thought for a long time that he'd be a nice chap for her but the Zeedan/Rana business might make it awkward. Now I don't care about that and once again am matching them up.

Honestly, Mary is a real gift for the Street, she is so funny!

Poor Sean, bless. I want Eileen with someone else (maybe Seb) to follow him 'home' but think someone will see him panhandling. He has friends, no-one would want to see him homeless.

I'm on the edge of my seat about the Sally-fraud business, it's dreadful. Sincerely hope this doesn't push her and Tim apart, they are such a good couple.

Deadringer · 17/08/2018 00:35

I think they are making a huge mistake pushing a wedge between Sally and Tim, they are such an inspired pairing and one of the few things the writers have got right in recent times.

Clionba · 17/08/2018 07:23

I agree. Sally and Tim are a rarity - a contented and compatible couple who both play the parts well, and have comedy value. I hate the way that Sally's ambition is turned against her. She wanted to be Mayor of Westerfield and it's given so much grief and pain. It could have been a good route to funny and interesting stories. She's always punished for her ambition.

Thesearmsofmine · 17/08/2018 08:18

I agree, I don’t like them doing this to Sally and Tim. They are the only happy long term couple I can think of on the street and I think you need at least one happy couple!

They should have kept Jude as an intelligent marine biologist who had to relocate to work abroad so we rarely see him on screen but Angie decided stayed in the street as they were settled. I like Angie and I hope she gets something interesting to do soon.

millimat · 17/08/2018 09:21

I agree with pp. I wish I could just offer to invest without having a clue what sum of money is involved!
When Johnny did the offer for the pub, he told jenny that they could afford it if they sold the flat. The next day they'd moved in. I wish I could sell a flat that quickly!

Clionba · 17/08/2018 09:24

I thought that about the flat! The sales never fall through, chain too long, buyers pull out, problems with the survey etc. Property and business sales in Corrie are quicker than Roy selling a cup of tea!

Yes I agree the writers seem to want to put Sally in her place all the time, why is it wrong for someone in their intermediate years to want to improve themselves and have ambition? She was good at being Mayor and took her role seriously, it made a change for a woman of Sally’s age not to become a joke character, look what happened to Gail, when you watch classic Corrie compared to the storylines she is given now.

Clionba · 17/08/2018 14:55

"it made a change for a woman of Sally's age not to become a joke character"
Absolutely, Betty! I feel sad that she's lost her position as mayor, lost her standing and is losing her husband.

OP posts:
cloudyweewee · 17/08/2018 16:06

Toatlly agree about Gail, BettyBoo. Gail was fesity and independent in Classic Corrie, part owning the cafe and telling Brian to feck off when she'd had enough of him.

cloudyweewee · 17/08/2018 16:17

feisty

Deadringer · 17/08/2018 19:42

Surely the police don't have a case against Sally. The 'evidence' is just based on Duncan's say so. He says the phone was hers, but can't the police determine where a phone has been, and that one has never been in Sally's house. Her fingerprints wouldn't be on it either presumably. And if Sally orchestrated the whole thing why did she only get a grand. And if the police believe that she put the rest of the money in an offshore account, why would she let Duncan put 1K into her personal account. It just doesn't make any sense. And and and..... I really need to get out more!

cloudyweewee · 17/08/2018 21:03

I can't help it, but I really fancy Nigel Havers.

Clionba · 18/08/2018 10:34

Cloudy he's definitely a charmer.
Why would a lawyer advertise for a legal secretary in the newsagents' window?
Of course Leanne could be a legal secretary. She could no doubt be a knicker stitcher, cafe worker, cab driver or dental surgeon.

OP posts:
cloudyweewee · 18/08/2018 12:23

Don't forget, Leanne has also owned an Italian restaurant (although she had to torch it for the insurance), an exotic dancer, a prostitute/escort, and probably several other jobs which I've forgotten about.

eddiemairswife · 18/08/2018 12:37

I love Nigel Havers' beautiful dark silver hair.

Billy manages to drain the life from every scene he's in.

Clionba · 18/08/2018 12:37

I'd forgotten about the torched Italian restaurant. I do recall her escort days, one of the Connor brothers being a client. I think he was the husband of Carla?

OP posts:
cloudyweewee · 18/08/2018 13:03

Yes, it was Paul. Didn't he kidnap Leanne and then kill himself? I might have got it wrong but can't be arsed googling Grin

Clionba · 18/08/2018 17:10

Yes, I think he put Leanne in the boot (as you would) but was killed in a collision. Anybody else worried about how Carla treats her kidney? Red wine at lunchtime? A bottle of whisky in the filing cabinet??

OP posts:
cloudyweewee · 18/08/2018 17:14

Traceyluv's kidney transplant is never acknowledged. I am indeed worried about Carla's kidney, but also more concerned at how tight Billy's trousers are. He must use a shoehorn.

Clionba · 18/08/2018 17:16

Yes, Tracey hammers her kidney as well.

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 18/08/2018 17:22

Just way watched this week's, (I watch the omnibus on a Saturday), and never mind the rest but Sean and his crying face, I'd never tire of slapping it.
Also I'm hoping he's still homeless in winter and freezes to death.

kikashi · 18/08/2018 17:33

Tracey's kidney should be in trouble by now. Samir obviously had a super kidney. Yes, I want to snatch each glass of wine Carla necks off her. She told Aiden she'd have the odd glass but it's never ending and didn't she go to rehab with Peter when they ran off to the US? Seems she is a special kind of alcoholic Hmm

SgtFredColon · 18/08/2018 19:51

Traceyluv's kidney transplant is never acknowledged. didnt she end up in hospital a couple of years ago as it failed? It was around the time she was trying to get back with Steve but he wanted to get back with Michelle
