Hi all, love this series! Have a random question ... why does Sunny carry that backpack round with him everywhere?! Seems to make a point of him grabbing it when they leave the office and having it over his shoulder whenever they go somewhere ... seems there must be some significance?!

We still don't know who Ells is though. Can't be Elliot, as he was a child at the time, and his dad can't contact him anyway.

Oh I was thinking that the boy Ells could have been witness to what happened (hence his troubles) , he definitely left a message saying 'it's dad, they've come about her'.

I think we need to be looking at the wives/partners in all of this. The men were involved in some sort of cover up, perhaps?

It was Chris (artist guy) who is said to have ‘gone mad’ and left early following the new year’s meal.

Anyone spot the little frisson of tension when Cassie was flirting with the detective chap 'oh you have two grown up sons too. Jinx!' and Sunny was giving them sidelong looks and then leapt in to invite the guy out for a drink to get in first and thwart their chances of meeting alone? Or did I read that wrong? And why did he then say 'You're welcome' to Cassie when detective guy had gone?'

If the internet troll is Maia, not sure what she would know as presumably she would have been a tiny tot on Millennium Eve and hasn't seen her dad in 17 years. Unless her mum saw something and told her, and she now blames her dad as her mum has now died. Maybe that's the meaning of the 'i blame the parents' thing?

If the boyfriend was 23 when dating her then of course he could have been a qualified teacher. If he went to uni at 18. You can qualify as a primary teacher in 3 yrs and secondary in 4. Was mullery the boyfriend?

So suspects are

Chris Lowe - homeless and has bipolar, was CEO and multimillionaire previously. 1st wife deceased daughter Maia (is she the troll?). Current fiancée jamila seems to think he's a good man but then she didn't even know he had a child or how he'd come to be homeless.

Tim finch - dr, 2 daughters claire and Emma now 27 & 29, ex wife Derran possibly dropped him in it with police. He tried to discredit her before police spoke to her. 2nd wife carol seems to think we'll of him. Has he got a deep seated temper?

James Hollis - famous tv presenter, son Elliott Hollis who is spiralling into addiction apparently, james thinks he's to blame for 'ruining his life', called him as soon as police got in touch. Called the others to warn about police coming and possibly to get story straight. Seems most nervous out of the 4 about this particular incident. Ex wife mel Hollis.

Pete Carr - salesman con man current wife Maria Carr. Son will carr wouldn't have been alive 1999. Ex wife? Seemed relaxed even blasé until Dna swab mentioned. I reckon nothing to do with this crime BUT another crime that Dna might prove him guilty of? He seems charming but aggressive type - rapist?

Adrian mullery - victims boyfriend, 23 at time, angry but that seems more at how it was dealt with. Think he'll be found to have an alibi. But at this point it could be him, especially now timeline been shown to be inaccurate, so precious alibi's basically out the window!
