I love this show, and have just found the thread. I have some catching up to do.

I've been pondering the Tim character and I'm actually quite upset that Cassie and Sunny didn't immediately prick up their ears when the younger daughter said something like, "Sure, Dad can be a bit controlling..." They'd already seen the first wife, who strikes me as a classic example of someone who's never quite recovered from marriage to an emotional abuser. Agree with PPs' posts about the second wife, she comes across as a dormouse, wouldn't say boo to a goose character. Maybe Tim's a misogynist, which is why he can be so sweet to Chris, but is only nice to women when others are around.

No idea what relevance any of this has to Hayley's murder, but I'm always suspicious of an emotional abuser! I also think the twins may have swapped identities at some stage. Might the Mum and Dad be so traumatised by the disappearance of their daughter and the aftermath, that they actually can't remember which one broke her arm on holiday? In which case we've only got Jessica's word for it, that it was Hayley. There don't appear to be hospital records.

I’ve been thinking about Chris more. I wonder if his late wife is going to have something more to do with the story. I wonder if all the wives are more involved that we think, in some way, as the marriages all broke down.

I was also wondering if maybe the twins did switch but not in the way we think, ie it was supposed to be Jessica meeting Elliot or something and Hayley was mistaken for her.
Maybe Elliot confided in Hayley that he was being abused?

At the moment all four men are coming across as creepy and as others have said I'm sure that the end will have a massive twist in the tale. They are all guilty of something....intrigued to find out.

I'm not sure that the sister is suspicious though. Her scenes seem to me to be showing the absolutely harrowing impact that a murder like this has on the family.

How come there is no record of Chris's arrest?

Did one of the detectives on the case have something to do with that- either the one who died or the younger one who's helping the team

From what I recall there was apparently a police operation and he was part of a first wave of arrests.

Even if he wasn't arrested or if charges were dropped for some reason wouldn't there be some sort of record?

I agree that the women are involved somehow - there has to be a reason the marriages broke up.

2nd Mrs Tim has hidden reserves, I think, and may now go looking to see if there's any truth in the Jekyll and Hyde allegations about her husband.

What if one or more of the women in the cottage killed Hayley, say over drugs or money and they collaborated to dispose of her body?

The writer is doing a great job of keeping everyone guessing. I now think the sister is the perp because it's too obvious for it to be any of the four suspects and the twin angle is there for a reason but don't know why she would kill her sister - the theory by MyDCAreMarvel is the most plausible: "I think Hayley’s twin was caught by Hayley having sex with Elliot. They then accidentally killed her trying to keep her quite . Elliot dad covered it up to protect his son and career."

Well i reckon that will be an end to Petes money problems.............once he sues.
