How about this scenario - Chris abusing Elliot perhaps for years, caught by Hayley, Elliot thinks of chris as a 'boyfriend' and defensive of him, both go for Hayley, Elliot's dad happens upon the mess, kills Hayley?

Agree, Pete has clearly ballsed things up a long the way, but I don’t think it was him. My suspicions still lie with the Hollis family, and Finch.

Again, although Chris’ past has been revealed, I don’t think he was directly involved in Hayley’s case. He has clearly spent a lot of time off the grid and is trying to rebuild his life (not condoning anything!!!) but I think the rest of the group would see him as the vulnerable one to prey on.

I do think that the wives and children know more than they are letting on.

I do still think that there is more to Jessica Reid. I’m beginning to wonder if there was an identity swap on holiday; perhaps Jessica had been told off for misbehaving (running by the pool or something!) and she slipped, so Hayley took the wrap and said it was her?

The way the camera panned right to her when Jessica was saying that Hayley didn’t like the dark and the way she touched the plaque on the coffin made me think about it again.

One or all of the four suspects can't have killed Hayley because Cassie theorised both at the beginning of the episode and those of us who've seen the previous two series's know that the reveal is always surprising.

I think Petes killer did know him, but was also triggered by the confidential stuff being posted online.

Yes the last 2 series it's been kinda a surprise but iirc it was the main suspects as identified from the beginning of each series.
