There’s is a trailer on tv which shows dramas coming up in the next few weeks, and one of the scenes is a young person wearing a hair slide, I am sure it’s a boy,dressing as a girl. It could be a flashback to something that happened, maybe Haley caught the young lad dressing up, he flipped and killed her accidentally, and the men covered it up.

However it’s difficult to work out how old the son of the tv presenter is, so maybe it’s a red herring.

I reckon 'Els' could be about 30 - don't think he's only a teenager. Do we know how long the TV presenter has been in his current relationship? Plus we do know that all of them ended their marriages within a year of the NYE party and I got the impression that the 'children'' were more than babies...

I didn't think he was as old as 30, I thought early to mid 20s. Which would make him a very young child at the time of Hayley's death.

I thought there had been a mention of him being a very young child at the time.

We also thought maybe 28-30, so 10-12 at the time of the incident. Some of the other kids were said to be 9 or 10, I think.

I love Unforgotten, and Nicola Walker- although I thought the weird pauses/breaths in the middle of sentences were getting a bit much in the last episode.

Having seen Nicola in The Split recently @Marjpoops, I've come to the conclusion that this is a quirk of hers, not the characters she plays!

He looks very clearly early 20’s to me and it’s building up to him having some part in Hayley’s murder. But as I said upthread, he won’t be the killer because the actor isn’t a big name.

Hmmm the actor that plays Elliot is 26 and a bit of a rising star, however agree if he was 8-10 murder of a much bigger teenager unlikely.

I wonder whether there was a horrible accident, then a panicked strangling to shut them up ( by one of the men) and a group cover-up.

When listing the people who stayed at the rental house, TV man described him as “our little boy, Elliott”. The other families’ children were described as “little girls”.

I think this behaviour is meant to imply that Nicola's character is very affected by this crime and is pressurising herself to advance the investigation. Plus the bit of trouble at home (everyone detests a gold-digger), so perhaps she's going to break down at some point in the story?

Nicola Walker was reading a series of stories on the radio and there were weird pauses/breaths in that too - I think it's her quirk.

Definitely something she often does. She also did it in Last Tango in Halifax.

I took the Chinese girl in the flashback to suggest something Pete had done in Hong Kong. He seems the darkest of the four so far. I’m wondering if he did something that meant he had to return to the UK.

Trying to figure out where I've seen Pete's boss before. He looks very familiar.
