So... In gilead no women goes anyway without being watched by armed guards but suddenly Serena is swanning around hotel bars drinking and chatting with strange nen

Surely, knowing who serena is and how influential she was in the creation of Gilead they wouldn’t be as naive as to think they could turn her?

I am sure there is no way the commander would leave Serena to get own devices. Surely he would have made sure she was guarded art all times.

I found the scene in the glasshouse very moving. When she went ahead a looked like she was working hard not to cry, hearing all about her host's busy work life and love of reading.

I feel like they would have brought another woman to guard serena under the guise of a companion. Like an aunt Lydia type.

I think giving Serena the pictorial itinerary was Canada’s way of being respectful and inclusive. The look on her face though. It must be very confronting for her, after all these years she will have normalised Gilead and the oppression she suffers and suddenly she’s planted in a world where it’s not normal to be banned from reading and have to wear a uniform. I bet she wants to just chuck on some jeans and light one of those fags.

A bit stupid really surely she wouldn't be allowed to wander about on her own.

When Serena told June she would be made to leave I was thinking mostly about how she would want to be with the baby.

I didn't think of her wanting to know the baby had someone to be kind to it.
