I bought a book yesterday - Hitler's Girls, doves amongst eagles. It's about young girls growing up under Hitler. The parallels are quite shocking. I've only read the first four chapters. The one girl describes having to have a medical to join the (compulsory) Jung Madel. She is only ten but they do internal examinations.
She says:
"Looking back though, it is now quite easy to see why the vaginal examinations were conducted as we were to form the basis of Hitler's breeding experiments and the mothers of his 'Master Race' dream. We later learned much about the Lebensborn or Fountain of Life project, and it was very obvious that we Aryan girls were the chosen subjects for this programme. Whether we liked it or not the state was going to choose for us the German men who were going to make us pregnant in order to preserve and continue the very finest of the German race. "
They also talk about how their schooling was centred on physical education and learning about childcare and housework. Girls were expected to miss school if their mothers needed help at home. They were taught basic literacy, but teachers tried not to teach them too much as they didn't want them to be too educated. Jung Madel meetings were scheduled every night and all weekends, in part to leave them no time for any homework.
