DrippingLizzie · 24/05/2007 19:48

Kids' teatime drama in 1970s called 'Touch and Go' featuring creepy man scaring the shit out of two kids. Still have nightmares about it...

A · 24/05/2007 19:57

Dr Who

Chirpygirl · 24/05/2007 20:03

Oh god, Ghostwatch

I was so terrified by this, it gave me nightmares for years afterwards!

I was reading thsi thread adn asking DH what it was called but he couldn't rememebr it, so in explaining it to him I have scared myself again!

here's more...

talcyoyo · 24/05/2007 20:12

There was a scary ghost drama that involved a doll being dropped down a well and some Victorian children being locked in a house and the house set on fire (but I think the modern children managed to rescue them and set it right) but I don't know what it was called - anyone?

Housemum · 24/05/2007 20:14

I hated Ken Dodd, he gave me the creeps.
There was something called Michael Bentines Potty Time that had weird squeaky voice creatures.
Daleks - I couldn't walk past one once in a beachside amusement arcade - was in hysterics apparently and wouldn't walk past the building.
Fire safety public information films - nightmares after those
Once saw some wartime drama with the Bethnal Green tube station tragedy - basically people fell down the steps of a crowded tube station after an air raid, and some suffocated to death. I couldn't quite grasp how someone falling at the top could lead to people dying - totally freaked me out, still can't bear to have covers over my face - DD loves climbing under the bedclothes when she comes in in the morning and it still makes me panicky when she puts the duvet near my face!
Oh, lord, I'm just a big wuss really....

talcyoyo · 24/05/2007 20:17

LOL

we've gone from Halloween, nightmare on elm st....

sounds like the amazing mr blunden classic 70s film, someone mentioned it earlier kathy

i saw that bethnal green programme housemum, it stayed with me for years.

Housemum · 24/05/2007 20:21

Southeastastra - I'm so glad someone else has seen it! Whenever I've mentioned it people give me blank looks - i wish I knew what it was called as I would love to see it again. Maybe it was just an episode of Danger UXB or something like that

If you want to go down the really-give-me-the-creeps route you can also include Timmy Mallet and Paul Gambaccini - eeeuuurrrghh - without wanting to be libellous they look v dodgy...

Kathyis6incheshigh · 24/05/2007 20:22

Aha - just IMDB'd it - must be that; thanks SEA!

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 20:24

yes i've never met anyone who had seen it either! maybe it was danger uxb, that was gripping wasn't it.

i didn't even realise it was true until i saw a clip of it a couple of years back. i'll have a google for it

mumemma · 24/05/2007 20:27

Jaws - still hear the music when I go swimming

Dr Who - especially an episode with giant maggots

Tales of the Unexpected and Hammer House of Horror

not scary but very rude....Bouquet of Barbed Wire - does anyone else remember this?

I really don't know why I was allowed to watch these programmes. Bizarrely my grandmother would only let me watch BBC, she said ITV was 'common'!

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 20:32

this is all i can find housemum. (scroll down)

it was called: it's a lovely day tomorrow. i can still see the pictures in my head.

talcyoyo · 24/05/2007 20:33

TwoIfBySea · 24/05/2007 20:41

Oh and what was that rabbit thing, Pipkin, Nutkin or something. That was so bloody awful looking, really raggedy and not in a cute way, I used to cry when it came on. It had really jaggy looking teeth and claws. Who the hell would have made that for a kids programme!

flimflammum · 24/05/2007 20:42

Giant maggots in Dr Who - yes! They sprayed people with green slime, which then spread all over them. I remember having to leave the room.

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 20:44

aw twoif hartley hare! i loved pipkins

TwoIfBySea · 24/05/2007 20:49

Arrrggghhh! Southeastastra! That thing is just as bad as I remember.

No wonder I cried at it.

Ugly, nasty

Bloody rabbit!
