Cybermen, terrified me but the new versions are a big hit with dts (age 5) so they must be made of sterner stuff!

The Triffids, why was I allowed to watch that, I have no idea! Scared of big fake flower things.

And there was another tv show I wasn't supposed to watch and I did, a drama about rabies coming to Britain.

And the information adverts; where the little boy runs along the beach and there is a huge bit of glass sticking out the sand, it stops just before the inevitable happens. Also the one about water where "death" wraps his big black cloak around the child that drowned. Oh shivers.

hatwoman · 23/05/2007 21:08

The film The Curse of Tutankamen. one of the archeologists disturbed a nest of scorpions. I spent several nights convinced there were scorpions in my bed. It was far more scarey for being a real creature. ok so I live in the UK, not Egypt, but I reckon a scorpion in your bed is still more likely than a cyberman in your wardrobe.

hatwoman · 23/05/2007 21:10

twoifbysea - I remember that drama. I scared the pants of myself because I turned it on, half way through not knowing what it was. and it was in teh middle of a "news bulletin" so I thought it was real!!! it did dawn on me it wasn;t, but spent a good few minutes glued to the spot, trembling away

talcyoyo · 23/05/2007 21:11

all the safety info adverts were just plain mean!

family in mini singing as they rounded a corner with fallen tree across road....

hatwoman there was a particular part that I remember very clearly, where someone is in a car and a rabid fox suddenly jumps up at the window. Scared me s**tless!

Funny how reading this thread made me go and put the lights on rather than sitting in the twilight!

permatired · 23/05/2007 21:32

Has anyone said Catweazle? - OMG

notsofarnow · 23/05/2007 21:39

Dr who always used to hide behind the sofa when the darlechs came on.

Remember hiding when wizard of oz was on too.

Snowhite · 23/05/2007 22:00

Zelda

hk78 · 23/05/2007 22:11

there was this one episode of dr who (tom baker) well actually it ran over several episodes...there was a guy called charles who got entangled in a tree/plant type thing, which gave him some kind of green rash. gradually he became more and more tree/plant-like until he was just all leafy and barky, it was horrific to me as a child. he went round attacking people he normally loved etc.
god, i was checking under my bed/behind doors for years

hk78 · 23/05/2007 22:12

and yeah, the incredible hulk, i was scared when he would change, but it was the end of each episode that would really get me : he would always have to move on because he'd been found out, and it would show him hitchhiking out of town or whatever, with this really sad, creepy piano music.

hk78 · 23/05/2007 22:14

can anyone else remember something called 'the clifton house mystery' or something similar, it was this unsuspecting family who moved into this haunted house. it had everything, roman soldiers walking through the walls, blood drippping from the walls, all sorts.

and yes, sapphire and steel as well.
