Watership Down - when all the fields turn red with bloo. Hated that film, it scared me - I've nver watched the whole thing

Also remember coming downstairs late one night as a young child and my dad was watching Stephen King's 'IT' (about the killer clown). I watched it quietly from the door for about 10 minutes then went up to bed terrified. That freaked me out for months and months.

Wilkie · 23/05/2007 16:29

And what was that weird programme - was it called Choccie (not sure how to spell it). IDdn't like that either - I was a child wimp

Tech · 23/05/2007 16:29

Ripeberry, I remember that - thats The Beast with Five Fingers with Peter Lorre.

"It's the hand, I tell you. It's Mr Ingram's hand...."

Wilkie · 23/05/2007 16:30

BTW - that should read blood not 'bloo'

southeastastra · 23/05/2007 16:30

chocky's children was about a green light that used to appear in the corner wasn't it? odd

MamaD · 23/05/2007 16:34

An episode of Blakes Seven when they all got some strange leprosy like disease that looked like pink candy floss all over them...... AND I had to leave the room whenever Avon came on screan.

A Black and White film, that was actually filmed in the 70s called (I think) The Asphix where some guy in the 1800s managed to catch the shadow (Asphix) that appears just before you die, making him immortal.

Also the awful scene in Jaws when the head pops out the bottom of the boat .....shudders.....

gscrym · 23/05/2007 16:34

The Master on Dr Who and the bit where Tom Baker changed into Peter Davidson.

Wilkie · 23/05/2007 16:35

Thanks South, Yes, still freaks me out even now.... Chocky

onefootinthegravy · 23/05/2007 16:38

Definately the bit in Jason and the Argonauts when that bronze statue thing come to life, he's kneeling down and all the little men are underneath his podium thing, and then his head moves and he looks down at them! The noise was awful and so unexpected !! That definately was the scariest thing I can remember - Sounds really pathetic now but I was about 5 !!

tinymum · 23/05/2007 16:39

Pinky and Perky always scare the hell out of me, even now.

talcyoyo · 23/05/2007 16:42

IT - I have a real fear of clowns even now at 31 thanks to that one.

and the bad robots in the original batlestar galactica with the red flashing light that went from side to side (my dad used to watch that show)

but mostly clowns

talcyoyo · 23/05/2007 19:33

American werewolf in london

the bit when he sits up in woods on bed...
when dreaming

still can't watch it

Zelda in Terrorhawks always used to scare the crap out of me as a kid.
My mum says that I used to scream when Joe 90 was on and started spinning in the chair I dont remember that one though I was a bit too young !!

mishw · 23/05/2007 20:03

After reading the book It I refuse to watch the film! It was a nightmare when I lived in the US as they had those kind of storm drains in the book (luckily we don't have them here, though I'm still scared of drains!) and also plug holes when the blood came up

I bet Tim Curry made a very scarey clown, but I don;t want to watch it and find out!

talcyoyo · 23/05/2007 20:05

He was a very scary clown
go on...watch it!

southeastastra · 23/05/2007 20:05

the ending of IT is really funny. there's a big scary build up and the 'monster' thing is a large insect type thing and they beat it up. he he it really spoilt it

mishw · 23/05/2007 20:08

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo I can't!!!!!

I know the ending of the book as I read it years ago and also thought it was a bit crap, like an after thought, but I really couldn't watch the rest of the film - I know I'm a big wuss

jacobandlysette · 23/05/2007 20:11

mishw you're no wuss don't watch it - it's all the way through the film - agreed the end is a bit of a "let down" but it's just all the way through

becaroo · 23/05/2007 20:20

Tales of the unexpected (HATE that music)

Threads (shudder)

Tripods (very dodgy 80's sci fi show)

I really dont know what my parents were thinking!!..........

mishw · 23/05/2007 20:34

Can;t believe that no one else has mentioned the test card girl!!!! Just told DH about this thread and it was the first thing he said!
